71 going to 85 and probably rain again...never dried yesterday due to 2 showers. Glad some of you guys in Texas are getting rain...seems like you often need some.

Glad to see the local news making a big deal about the 80th anniversary of D-Day...hope the young folks understand the sacrifice so many made for others. Buppies, lots going on at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford.

Big Boss came by night before last and left me a present under the pear tree. Then went down the hill and got caught on this cam in the fog...

wonderful boat story coming out of Charleston
Giant cargo ship leaves dock on Cooper River headed for Savannah, Cooper River just like the Patapsco in Baltimore, some
big bridges to go under before getting to bay/ocean.
apparently the throttles jammed on this ginormous ship and it went flat out, 15 knots, down the Cooper River and under that bridge
at full power. Better to keep steering control than have what happened in Baltimore.
So I'm sure with that very fresh in mind, they didn't kill the power but just steered the boat down the river like a speedboat.

I can't imagine the wake that thing put out, apparently hurt a couple folks in small boats.
And I bet that captain needed fresh shorts.

72 outside this AM, heading to lower 80's. Rain expected today, later this afternoon.

Yesterday a pretty big storm system moved just to the north of us and made its way up to the NE.

It spawned numerous tornados, but nothing like the western or plains variety. A local TV weather station covered it non-stop for over two hours. Non-stop.

Not saying it was not serious, but the coverage was akin to the end of the world.

Today I plan on working on the pool, attempt to get the chemicals right and general cleanup. Need to make a fuel run for the equipment and do some day jobs work so the bills get paid.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

80 years today, we helped rid Europe of tyranny. Honor those who gave all in the name of freedom and liberty.

Good morning! A cool 67˚F with clear skies heading to the upper 90s. Wind W turning E.

On agenda today move large pot plants (6 trees, including my 3 - 5' date trees from seed) with realtor's panel truck/ramp and clean out refrigerator. If any time left box more stuff.

I wonder if someone has a plant identity app, can you do that off a video screen??

some primroses come out at night, I think the moonflowers I planted are a variety of that.
I hope so, except mine would be white not yellow
we shall see, the vines are starting to grow

very cool some of you get to see bear near your homes.
Large carnivores with big teeth and claws deserve our respect.
I wonder if Bill or our New England friends have found a moose in their back yard.
Canada has the most moose and British Columbia the most in Canada.

other than deer most common larger wild animal seen around here are red fox.
We also have raccoons and skunks but not many.
I don't count squirrels and rabbits, they are everywhere here.

always thought having an armadillo would be fun too but I bet they dig up your place.
That would be a good pet for Ted. Though I read the nine banded armadillo is native to Texas, I'm guessing
West Texas. Sadly one of the top five animals in Texas is now wild boars.
that's a critter that most farmers would like to go extinct.

awesome pics M7040
amazing so many hundred year old soldiers were still able to visit this year.
one guy was 107

Morning all, 73 going to 84 and cloudy, rain later.
Got about 1" rain yesterday.
Started raking up the cuttings from the bushes, managed to at least get a few piles before the rain started and I got soaked. Now it's a mess to clean up when it gets drier.

Dad finally got his operation, seems he also cracked some vertebrae. He was too out of it last night for us to talk to him. We are looking at rehab and also the possibility of long term care. The cost though really woke me up, Cali the highest, NY right behind that and by me the cheapest. Still many thousands per month...

L4N - how long have you been waiting to us New Liskeard in a sentence :)

Thanks for sharing the pics M7040

Be well,
