71 this morning and headed to 97 today. Yesterday reached 98 had a dew point of 82 and heat index of 123. Looks like more of the same today maybe hotter. Managed to get second floor sheeting finished on building yesterday after birds got here.

Today I've borrowed a finishing mower to mow with. Will give that a shot since my mower is still down. I really need to bite the bullet and figure it out. So it might get a new belt later to do the trimming and clean up from the finish mower. Last half of birds are due anytime now.

Larro 25 stitches because of a chair. Might be time for a new one. Hope she's doing better.

Good Morning! 76˚ heading to 100˚

It finally cooled to 98˚ at 7pm so I was able to do a quickie mow (only the places we walk around the house and Tractor shed) and weed eat and finish by 9pm.

It looked like a fire when I was mowing with all the dust. Next time I have to wear the Wolfsnout so I don't have to hold my breath so often - and goggles.

I'll have to wait to get the other half of the yard when the wind shifts from the north or all the dust ends up in the pool. 25 days now with no rain and hot. This is Comparable to the opposite of the mid-winters up north - just don't want to get outside. - except to swim and early morning work - hey this is better than up North. The house is cool and only $150 electric bill.

Actually, we really lucked out...problem was wiring which we saw as soon as we pulled the cap off. I was hoping it was just the foot valve, but it was less than that.

Good Morning. 0740, partly cloudy, 77F with 93% humidity. Forecast high of 97F with 20% chance of thunderstorms today, and a low of 76F tonight. Looks like it is going to be a hot one. Today is my boss's birthday, so I'm going in for office relief midmorning. First I'm running up to Marianna to the walk-in clinic. Last week in the garden I picked up some sort of wildlife in my hand and leg. Not sure what it is, maybe sandworm or something like it. Very itchy and painful. Today is the first chance I've had of having it seen to.

I'm not sure what the annual fatality rates for recliners are, but it's around 6 for shark attacks. Sadly it is 13 for vending machine accidents, so we see where the real danger is. Apparently the board above the footrest was loose enough she managed to put her foot between it and the footrest while she was sleeping. She woke with a start and ripped her skin on the frame. Her skin tears easy as it is.

45F @ 5:30AM here in Susanville, CA. Plentiful sunshine. High 103F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph. This for Yankee Hill, where with a little luck, I'll be home to this afternoon.

Made it as far as Lewiston, ID yesterday, then here to Susanville today. Was trying to get all the way home, but several delays for road construction would have had me going into the sunset, then finishing the last leg through a deer infested canyon in the dark. Settled for a perfectly cooked fillet and a pint of Negro Modello in consolation. And will get to have breakfast with an old friend on the way home this morning.

Lots of catching up to do here, but I hope everyone's out of the hospital by now and all the mowing is caught up.

Kyle, yep, painted that motorcycle in the back yard with a bucket and an old broom. :laughing: Got another one painted just like it, a 1200GS. I'll sell it to you just as soon as the dealer is finished with the recall work later this week. :fiery: Recalls seven and eight; I think they've had it as much as I have.

Not much Internet access the last few days while at the big rally; pretty busy there anyway. Something like 6000 people, like someone kicked over an ant hill. All those vendors selling motorcycle junk, and all I ended up with was a new hat. :laughing:

One man had a machine to make engraved plastic name badges, and even had the logo set up for my club. He was engaged in a vigorous conversation with another man when I walked up, this one dressed in a black polo shirt with a big BMW roundel on the chest. The BMW man was demanding to see a letter giving permission to use the roundel (trade marked BMW symbol) on the other man's badges. Seeing as how permission was granted way back in 1985, the badge man saw no reason to carry it around with him. Mr. BMW said the company attorneys would be in touch and went away in a huff. Here's a vendor giving free advertising to BMW, and in a rally full of BMW supporters, BMW sends thugs around to threaten their supporters with law suits. Another reason I'll never buy one of their vehicles again.

One last story, from yesterday. US highway 395 runs from Canada to Mexico, mostly through high desert along the back side of the major north south range of mountains in that area. I picked it up yesterday in Pendleton, OR and very much enjoyed the varied mountain and desert scenery. But the moron backing his semi tractor sized dump truck across it in a blind corner? Not so much. Then there was the small heard of desert bighorn sheep I caught napping on the road; we were all quite surprised. Thank Dog for great brakes and loud horns...

I have nine memory "pushbuttons" on my Wunderground display and every one of them is showing 86 degrees right now, from New York to Wilmington NC. And it is 86 here.
Did a lot of trimming and weedeating and got utterly filthy in the process. Then inside by 1:30, pretty tuckered out.
Another naked walk to the shower as I sure wasn't wearing those clothes inside, chunks of stuff falling off me even after using the small cordless leaf blower on myself. Need to use Roundup on the driveway in spots and had to really cut back the grass so I can see what is coming in from the side and what is coming up through the pavement. Still very dissatisfied with the macadam edges, particularly now that the grass is getting into the cracks. Will take a large piece of cardboard and hold it up against the lawn and will spray as carefully as I can. Killed a few chunks of the good lawn last time when I did it by eye so this time I'm going to use a backboard of sorts. That will be my project for tomorrow.
And then I really have to get cleaned up.

When I met the prior owners of my home last time recently, they seemed determined to play matchmaker.
So................
Tomorrow night I have my first date. A slightly older lady.
Described to me as a book doctor. Oh? Book doctor...antique leather bindery?
No. Oh. I get it. A PHD? yes. Ok. And they've know her for thirty years.
Ok. How can I say no...

So off to a nice restaurant down by the river.
Honestly my only concern is getting driven around by this 80 some year old guy in his Crown Vic and getting home in one
piece. He's coming to pick me up after picking up my dining company. Sure knows where to find me anyway.

Good morning all. 77F this morning topped out at 98F here. Stepdaughter had a bad morning at work so boss told her to take rest of day off. Went with her to Richardson Bike Mart and Costco. Biggest bike shop I have been in by far! So the weed eating and finish mowing waits till tomorrow

Have not messed with any mapping sites, knew most of the bike trails at the old house, and just sticking with start and end at homes rides for the time being. Gets hot to fast and not done with moving in projects yet. Will check it out when weather and time are more bike friendly .

Don, I handle the cold easier than the hot. Plowing snow on open station tractor for 2-3 hours in 20F temps and 20 mph winds piece of cake. 100F heat index and I spend as much time inside as I do out :confused3::shocked:

73 going to 89 today, still dry weather, supposed to change this weekend to chance of showers for the next week but they sure aren't very accurate with that.

heading out early to change the blades on the JD lawn mower and do an oil change on the little Yanmar diesel. Need to look up the oil type; not all diesels are 15/40 though that's always my default. Then mow the fields in a/c and then back inside to clean up.
