Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. We're having one of those typical midwestern mornings where my glasses fogged up when I got out of my car at work this morning. Can you say humidity???

   / Good morning!!!! #35,942
Good Morning. 0645, partly cloudy, 77F with 97% humidity. Forecast high of 90F with 60% chance of thunderstorms today, and a low of 77F tonight. A new weather underground feature tells me thunderstorms are possible starting at 1:15pm. If they nail that one like yesterday's high {93 predicted, 99 actual} it could start raining in 10 minutes. I'm hitting the garden early trying to beat the heat. The signs are in the breast today, and I've got Armenian cucumbers, regular cucumbers, yellow and acorn squash to transplant. I wouldn't mind a nice gentle shower after I get them all set out.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Good morning all. 76F and clear, light breeze. forecast for 97F, DP @ 73F so HI should add 5-10F to the thermometer. Looks like we will move today, will not be living out of a suitcase for the first time since June 1 :) .

Another calm, mid-80's day on tap.

wngsprd good to hear your wife is out and about after surgery.

I'll mow inside the fence this morning to keep the lawn mower cuds down. It's time to change the string filter cartridge on the well water line and wash the bird feeders in bleach water. I've been feeding the birds just to see what showed up but they're turning into welfare birdseed junkies so I think I will cut back on that.

Eric the lambs look good.

Mostly- happy moving day. Suitcase living gets old.

Have a safe day.

85 this morning and headed to 96 today. Don't even want to look at the heat index. Yesterday was miserable. No rain over nigh but the front didn't come through either. So it could rain this afternoon.

Have a new hired hand out this morning. Put him to mowing. All I can say is he's not an equipment operator might classify as a steering wheel holder but my mower doesn't have a steering wheel. But hey he showed up 30 minutes early instead of 30 minutes late. Said he had a little trouble finding it. Doesn't know the area. See how it works out.

From the way the others act I'm hard to work for. I don't know how all I expect is for them to work at close to my speed. I usually give a 50% time allowance. If I can do something in an hour I expect them to do it in 1 1/2 hours. And don't get upset till the 3 hour mark. Otherwise most of the time I'm better off to do it myself.

Kev they have another place to put the birds. May have to pull someone early. It won't take this guy long once he gets hauling. He said he's got a short haul this year. 15-20 miles. Last year they hauled like 60 miles one way. And hauled in a day and half. 4-6 tractor trailers can move a lot of sh**.

62 @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High 94F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

The only sure thing with your boat deal, Drew, is that as soon as you buy one, you'll see a better one for less money. Works that way with most expensive things.

RS, maybe you just ran across a clerk that got up on the wrong side of the bed? Not that seven bux is worth the trouble, but a talk with the manager might be worthwhile if it happens again... Always nice when work pays off with a great running machine.

Ron, even if the garage was empty, the F250 wouldn't fit in there because the camper shell is too tall to go under the door except in one spot, and then it's just too close for comfort. I take advantage of that fact by lining the walls with shelves and cabinets and filling the floor with machine tools, motorcycles, and a pallet of firewood.

wng, good to hear your wife's feeling better!

mostly, there's no place like home!

Farmer, good luck with the new helper. Hopefully he doesn't get lost riding the mower...

First batch of parts done, the rest cleaned, masked, and ready to paint as soon as it gets just a little warmer. Never shot this brand of paint before, and it needs to be a little thinner or put on a little thicker to flow out, otherwise too much orange peel. But it's black so hides little issues like that pretty well. Black and white are hardest to paint with for that reason, as you can't see what it's doing as it's going on.

Watched a Robin Williams movie last night called Awakenings. True story about catatonic patients in a mental hospital coming briefly back to life after taking Dopamine. Most had been that way for tens of years. It was a good reminder to appreciate the simplest things, like being able to go for a walk or get a drink of water.

All but the feeder outside the bedroom door must be dry; the Hummers are all jockeying for position, chattering and dive bombing each other to secure a sip. I better put out some more nectar to keep 'em happy. Also might also be time to clean that window: They're kinda messy eaters...

Enjoy the day, everyone!

70°F and .09 inches rain

Off to Vet for scheduled growth removal from my momma girl boxer, Kalani.
Meeting BIL at vets who will take our 2 young charges for a day at the beach.
A couple in town errands, maybe time to hang a couple drywall panels before returning to town to pick up all the girls, both 2 legged and 4 legged.

Be safe
Have a great day

I was on my last full grapple load when my cell rang - I stopped the tractor to answer and it was Mikim's wife. she said that Mike died yesterday, an accident while working on his mower. I don't know how long I sat there with the grapple in the air - just so sad - he was a very good friend to me and a lot of us here on TBN.

To Mike's memory.

That looks like work Gary!
I was looking at where your town is relative to Windsor and realized you live further south than many Americans. Your town is about the same latitude as central Iowa.

Sad news about Mike. It doesn't seem like it's been a year since Jim died.

I remember seeing a documentary about a handful of people that had taken some drug being sold at some concert/festival or neighborhood. It was exactly like you mentioned. They were catatonic, locked inside their bodies. The dopamine or whatever they tried lost it's effect after a number of doses. Exponential decay type of thing. It was quite a tough show to watch. But if they showed it to every kid, maybe it might keep just one off of dope.

The city of Austin recently had almost 200 people hospitalized for some synthetic marijuana called K2. Seems the "designers" keep changing the concoction to elude the law and this time put some sort of insecticide or something the police are saying.

It doesn't. Very sad to lose such good people. Mike lost his finger recently and I had forgotten about his bout with cancer in 2013.

Yea hate to hear about a member passing. Especially one of Mikes magnitude.

Sure doesn't seem like a year since Jim either.

Coffee is done brewing. 57° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 74° with mostly sunny skies. Up early this morning. Driving to Port Huron to take my Aunt to hospital for eye surgery. Going to be a long day.
Sad, hearing about Mike dying. RIP Mike.
Be safe using your mowers, tractors and implements
Good Morning All.
