Correct. That's the title of the first book of 15 (so far in the series). I'm on #7 my wife is on #10. I managed to round up all the books from used book stores - very cheap entertainment for summer reading.

RNG- Roobios - that is the correct tea. Has anyone tried it? It looks pretty healthy - in the book they just drink it hot to cool off - I have not quite figured that out, but one person in the book said it made you sweat and the sweat evaporating cooled the body.

I haven't read any of them, but I've heard good things about them. I stopped reading anything but westerns about 8 years ago. After two years of reading westerns non-stop, I wrote some stories of my own for the next four years, trying not to read anything published after 1725 unless it was a history book aimed at the early 1700's. Now for the last two years I have been deep into the westerns again. But on Monday when I was at the library {it's beside the Civic Center, so I walk over everyday I'm working}, I was standing in the stacks talking to one of the ladies, and we were in the B's. I saw the Nevada Barr novels, and decided to start over with the Anna Pigeon series. https://www.goodreads.com/series/40958-anna-pigeon The lady is a cop in the National Park Service and travels from park to park solving murders. It a pretty good series.

And I drink hot coffee to cool down, to warm up, to relax, to pep up or whatever I'm in the need of. I drink a lot of coffee.

I worked in the garden all morning, then walked over to feed BIL's biddies. I ate lunch and got my fishing tackle loaded in the truck and came in to change cloths. Now a thunderstorm has blown up. If it doesn't last too long, I'm still going down to the pond.

Vitamin C in tea?:

As a fresh leaf, rooibos has a high content of ascorbic acid.[3]

Rooibos tea does not contain caffeine and has low tannin levels compared to black tea or green tea.[3]

well, a good cure early on for scurvy...

High was 75F today, breezy and sunny after the morning rain cleared out.

Made a grocery run. Farmer2009 they had fresh whole young chickens for $1.29/lb so I bought three. You need to get home and get those barns full again.. Stopped at the local strawberry farm stand. $5.50/qt for fresh strawberries. They have been expensive the past few years. Trucked in strawberries at the grocery were $1.99 for a small container which probably works out to ~$3/qt.

Mowed the yard and went around with the string trimmer this afternoon. I need to prepare those chickens for cooking yet this evening.

It was after supper before I had a chance to drag out the old square stern canoe. It was in great shape for having been propped up behind a shed for 15 years. The truth is, I had forgot about it being there until I was looking for some plow points a few weeks ago, and I stumbled across it. It was too late to get in much fishing, but the view made it worthwhile.

Saw this doe when I pulled out to the road headed over to the pond. She was just past the graveyard. She stood there until I got about a quarter way down to her.

A rain cooled 77. High was 93. Hot and fish didn't bite. Caught a saltwater catfish and a snapper. A two hour trip with three lines. Guide said come back again we should do better. I said can't get much worse. He laughed. A guy from Kentucky also. It wasn't his fault the fish didn't bite. He tried put us on several spots were you could see fish when we pulled up. They just didn't want any shrimp today.

Dave. Eat more chicken it's good for business. I'll get them full just as soon as we get the sh** out. :).

Larro I don't think the pictures are working.

The plow search was a while back. And it was more of a shakedown cruise than a fishing trip. The canoe had been out of the water so long I didn't know what kind of shape the fiberglass would be in. Wouldn't want to get Margie in the middle of the pond, then find out it doesn't keep the water out. With all the lily pads, using a small bream as live bait looks like the best bet for the bass. My rubber worm was on top of the water more than down in it.

Sorry the fish were not biting. I didn't do any good either, but then my fishing trip was 1/4 mile from the house. And I reposted the pictures.

2 of our neighbor kids went fishing on our pond and had no luck. No fish kind of day. Remember when calendars had the little fish on each day partially colored in for a so so day and fully colored in for a good day? Today must've been a blank calendar fish day.

Up early since I've got to go in early as part of an AS 9100 audit (company I work for is being audited and I'm one of the auditees). AS 9100 is the equivalent to ISO 9000.
This week has been total s**t

geez Roy, you have to get up quieter, now you've got me up early....:D
hope your very long day goes ok.

and another hot day here, 77 already going up to mid 90's. 5 hours of mowing yesterday sure satisfied my mowing urge...luckily my young helper comes today and he can push the trimming mower. I was asleep before 9pm last night, guess I slept soundly because I'm wide awake now. Some of us are serious morning folk...I think it's farmer dna from my father's side.

need to get things picked up here, house guest coming in on Friday, this time by train; turns out the Amtrak station is only a little over an hour West of me. 8 hours sitting in a train vs 9 hours on I95. No choice here, my old close friend is coming down to buy my Avalon and drive it back to PA. So I am very interested to hear how the train ride went. If I don't need a truck to haul stuff, I will definitely consider that in the future. Take my laptop and a book and it sure sounds better than dealing with that awful traffic. And since they finally put speed restrictors on the infamous Philly curve, I won't take any 55 mph zones at 105mph...that doesn't work well in a car either does it?....

Yesterday after mowing I took my tractor over to my drunken farmer neighbor's place and dumped three loads of sand and dirt on his driveway to fill in the foot deep holes in it. My attempt to clean up what is truly Tobacco Road. He appreciated it, though he hasn't driven in years since the local Sheriffs have arrested him for DUI enough times his license is just an apparition.

Surveyors are here today to survey my whole property. Older firm, and the owner was there, making sure this elaborate gps system was set up right. They set a few plastic markers and it was great to finally find the line. But today they are hacking their way through Amazonian jungle thicket in 95 degree weather. With machetes... Better them than me. Two younger guys who seemed quite content dealing with snakes, briars, whatever.

Clear skies and some chilly Arctic air brought the temperature down to 2C/36F last night. This morning the sun has wasted no time in warming things up again.

When I read No 1 ladies detective agency I wondered what bush tea was like, then a few years later I saw a friend making a pot and saw that it was more than just the leaves they picked from the bush, the entire plant went in - twigs too, some so big you could almost call them a branch. Looked more like one of Dave's beaver's dams than a cup of tea.

I borrowed an air compressor to see if I can clean up some of the timbers in the new workshop with a little sand blaster and garnet powder. Looks promising, however it really needs a higher flow rate compressor. The electric ones at the local hire shop are no bigger, and their big gas powered ones would work out expensive to hire for a slow worker like me. With a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, it may be time to go out and buy a shiny new one. Only slight problem is the birthday is - my wife's.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 59° with rain this morning. Heading to 72° with rain ending in afternoon. Not much planned for today. I did get some of the shop and barn leaned up. Need to do a run for diesel fuel.
Kyle, no need for the fishing calender any more. They have a app for that. :D I have a watch that gives best times. Worked well when I was great lakes fishing.
Good Morning All.
