Good morning!!!!

75 degrees going up to 94 today, hot day, but the lawn has to get mowed so I'm headed out early.
back to reality
Dave, turns out boat is on third owner, not second as I was told, and I think was lightly fished in the lower Chesapeake. but you just can't let boats like this sit out on a dock for years at a time, do almost no maintenance, and then expect it to run right. These aren't tractors...just about everything in a boat is poised to break all the time; the breed is not reliable to begin with, which is why I picked a simple design. But even simple designs need care, and this one was owned by a long term sailboater who I think thought all boats needed was wind.

So I'm out a day of my time and a 750 dollar survey bill. Money well spent to avoid unhappiness later. I would have had an 8 hour run home with this boat and it sure would have conked out on me leaving me stranded. No, it needs a lot of money spent on it, which it won't get and a new owner, but not me...
So I'll start again poking around. Another boat like it in Charleston SC. But maybe I should go a size larger and be more comfortable. But then, like a tractor, one can go too large...and I want to be able to singlehand this boat. So that means a pilothouse with an easy door outside to get to lines quickly. Perhaps I should look for a class 2 three point hitch also on it...;)

Mostly, glad you got home ok. Buppies, 450hp is going to suck some serious fuel; but that GW was meant to run hard and fast offshore so it has the power. And they sure do hold their value, so fixing up a GW can make a lot of sense.

Poured first cup of coffee. 49° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 72° with clouds moving in. Got a few chores to get done. Mostly cleaning the barn and shop. As usual each project I have worked on has its pile of things to put away and clean up.
Buppies, hope your boat find works out.
Vacationers, enjoy your time away form work.
Good Morning All.

Morning all!! Just had a light sprinkle pass over. Just enough to convince the cat to come back in from tweety bird patrol.

73 out this AM. Took a day job. Hey, at least I am legal! LOL. Hazy, hot and humid. It is a wet summer so far, my grass mocks me. When the temps are above 90 and it is humid, I try and ignore anything green.

I got a dead John Deere in the field. Been that way for a week now, saw the service truck twice. Yesterday for hours. Too lazy to go ask what the issue is. I was not the last driver, so I absolve myself of responsibility. LOL.

Vacationers? Do some vacationing!!!! Step back, enjoy the day.

That goes for the rest of you all too! Be safe, all.

73 and looking for 89 with t-storms later.

The spring latch mechanism just broke on the porch door as I was coming in from feeding the birds. It's an Anderson door, so I don't expect things like this, but it gets a lot of use. I had to fix one before.

Got my gly spraying done yesterday in the 94 degrees temps. I have 2 food plots that have become completely covered with an invasive weed with little pink flowers. I guess the seed came in with a food plot mix a few years ago. I wanted to knock it out before planting a fall patch but have needed to wait on the weather.

When finished spraying, I always clean the tank and pump with Nutra-sol and then another clear water wash out. Then remove the pump and fill with anti-freeze before shelving it. This clean up takes more time than the spraying sometimes, but I had one pump go bad (fortunately during the warranty period).

Today I'll be helping my wife - taking her to the hospital for some sinus surgery. Doesn't sound like fun, but I'll take good care of her.

Storms threatened yesterday but went up the river. Supposed to be hot today low 90s for high but still breezy.

Spoke to owner of GW last nite Will look over today then some beach time. Tomorrow Charleston trip and will certainly look at some boats. Lots of places to look

Good morning! 70s to 90s partly cloudy.

The county hay fields are going through their second cutting, and it's a good one.

Drew it looks like you dodged a big headache. They ought to refund that $750 bill since they gave you incorrect information on the boat and it had to be towed.

I have two large limbs that broke off and are on/over my shack-in- the- back. They are held over/on the roof the roof held by mustang grape vines. The todays project, with no access for the tractor, will be to remove them.

I need to taste some African Bush tea. The characters in the book series I'm reading are drinking that tea in every chapter.

1000 hours on outboards could be the reason.
Are they 4 stroke? What manufacture? Mercury or Yamaha would be my choice. My boat had 1000 hours on the engines. But 350 inboards are known to go 3000+ hours if they have been maintained.

Yamahas 225 four strokes will show all maintaince records today. Boat very faded some railing damage seats and t top enclosure in really good shape. 225 almost faded off motors

Good Morning. 0805, sunny, 78F with 91% humidity. Forecast high of 90F with 50% chance of thunderstorms today, and a low of 71F tonight.

Margie took the day off from work and her and Cousin Dee are going shopping in Panama City. They are not bad about staying out too late, but I may still need to rustle up my own supper. But on the other hand, if I wait, there will be some sort of leftovers coming home with them.

I'm going to do a little hoeing this morning. Then think about which boat {of the two available} to put in the pond. One is an aluminum John boat, the other a fiberglass square stern canoe. Both are 1 LP {Larro Powered}. The canoe is closer, so it's the most likely choice. My cousin stocked the pond last spring with bass, bream, catfish and shiners, and it hasn't been fished yet. All this talk of boats and vacations makes a fellow want to walk away from the garden for at least one day.

I need to taste some African Bush tea. The characters in the book series I'm reading are drinking that tea in every chapter.

81 this morning and headed to 90 today. Had a nice day yesterday. Did they wildlife tour. Seen a dolphin schooling fish. Many birds and 4-5 manatees. Back today for a charter fishing trip. Spent all day yesterday on Sanibel. Went to beach and played in ocean. Till storms ran us inside. After they blew over went back out and on a different beach and did some shelling. Mostly small shells but very nice shells.

Larro I'm not much of a reader. But I will have to look up the books.

Drew there's better boats out there. I went through that same set up once. Boat looked better on the land than in the water.

Buppies I know how you feel. Spent some of yesterday on the phone also. Guys are cleaning out chicken coops and it's rained so much they can't haul. Can't get in fields to dump. Oh well better forecast end of week for them. And I'll be back by then.

62F @ 6AM. Sun and clouds mixed. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High near 85F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Drew, being an anesthesiologist rules out stupid, so what does that leave? No mechanical sense? Can't read owner's manuals? I'll bet that 'Vet had the same kind of issues. And Don's right: the owner did misrepresent the boat. If you'd known that the maintenance wasn't done, would you have even agreed to a sea trial? Regardless, best to leave it his problem...

Wng, thanks for the antifreeze tip on sprayers.

Don, could this be the tea you're looking for:

It's bad enough having to take business calls on vacation, but when the email contains Word and Excel attachments and all you've got with you is a Blackberry, it pretty much ruins the whole day wondering what you're missing.

Farmer, when do your horse drawn lessons start?

Installed the new fuel pump yesterday but got no joy. It ran, but didn't pump. Checked polarity of wires against marks on pump. Wired OK. But I noticed the pump billowing out the filter on the intake when it ran. Reversed wires and now it pumps well. WTF??? But still no fuel to the engine. Heard a little pop in the fuel tank, so now I suspect a burst fuel line. They're rubber and decades old, and I should have replaced them when I had the tank drained. But I'm trying not to put any more money into this thing than I have to. Might have some on hand, but don't look forward to wrestling a 1/4" fuel line onto a 5/16" fitting inside the tank.

At least the weather will cooperate today, with highs only into the mid 80s. Summer as it should be.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency?

Correct. That's the title of the first book of 15 (so far in the series). I'm on #7 my wife is on #10. I managed to round up all the books from used book stores - very cheap entertainment for summer reading.

RNG- Roobios - that is the correct tea. Has anyone tried it? It looks pretty healthy - in the book they just drink it hot to cool off - I have not quite figured that out, but one person in the book said it made you sweat and the sweat evaporating cooled the body.

Good afternoon all. 71F and rain this morning, forecast for 80F up to 3 inches of rain before rain ending. Haven't found rain gauge yet, new one on shopping list. Inside work today.
