My neighbor lost his keys last week. He had his car towed and new keys made at the dealer. He found his old keys a couple of days later. Then asked me to look at a problem he was having, the car didn't start. I spent an hour playing with different things, no luck at all. He then had somebody else work on it, no luck, he even talked to a dealer mechanic friend. At the end, the old key doesn't work, the new key does. :)

it gets even worse.
I told my best friend what happened and he squawked
"you mean the remote locators we gave you last Christmas???"'

hmmm, yeah, the very same. Nabbed...
Dumb and dumber.
I wonder if those online mind strengtheners I see advertised will help? :D

yup, even worse...:dance1:

first tow truck company said they'd be an hour and a half, then they said half an hour more, half an hour more a second time, and when they asked for 45 the third, well guess what, strike three. I asked them to call an alternative tow truck company. Now that is is saying another thirty...this is almost entertaining.

We're about four hours into this road service call now. And when they call for the survey, could I mark all my responses
Excellent? Of course not you brainless twit.

Good Evening. 1750, cloudy, 55* with 75% humidity. Forecast low of 50* with 80% chance of rain tonight and 90% tomorrow. It was a dreary, cold day today. It barely got up to 60*.

Drew, when we got the Camry, it came with three of the smart keys. I had five dumb keys made and left one everywhere I was likely to lock my keys in the car. So far so good. If you find your keys before you have any made at the dealer's, they are cheaper at Walmart. Something like $50 compared to $75. Good luck.

Wow!! When we called Onstar around here, it was never more than 15 minutes, more like 12. I'd be very put off by that.

It wasn't Onstar and it wasn't an emergency, I just called Chev road service, maybe that was the mistake.
But with the ignition off and key out, didn't think Onstar would work.
They left fifteen minutes ago, the second tow truck firm, nice guy, going as fast as he could. Wasn't his fault.

Because this was not a roadside emergency vs. a pick up at owner's home, I think my priority dropped like a stone.
But a five hour response time is almost comical. It's completely dry nice weather out now, this was all caused by the first company contacted being pigs and accepting the call when they knew they were jammed up and couldn't respond for hours. I asked Allstate Road Service, who handles the program, to blacklist the first company, because they just kept lying and were caught at it.

and on that note, I think it's time for pie. Couldn't resist a three dollar apple pie marked down from eight since it was on its last use date. The pies are fine, sometimes the rolls are a little dry on the left over table.

All's well that ends well.

Thanks, now I'm craving apple pie! Enjoy a slice for me. Had the best slice of potato pie today I've ever had. Who knew that cream cheese could make a potato taste so good!

David (Mossflowerwoods) Better get your Thanksgiving menu planned! Should be fun.

Dave1949,

I'm keeping it simple... Smoked & roasted fresh turkey, smashed yukon gold taters, turkey gravy (my special scratch recipe), and a green veggie. My Kitchen is still a mess and the pans are all dirty...

But YES I suspect it will be FUN!
:D
