Evening to everyone. A disappointment on the rain front today.... not a drop. We may get a shower later, but it's way off on the radar.

Tomorrow is said to be "a record setting level of moisture" moving up the state and an "enhanced atmospheric lift"..... so they are forecasting periods of heavy rain and T-storms. Flood warnings/ advisories are getting posted already. No worries here, we sit up on a hill.... and I don't have to go anywhere.

Scaredy..... the green "tinge" is the totally brown dry fields finally getting moisture and starting to come back to life (starting to turn green).
I haven't had to mow yet this season and only had to use the string trimmer once. And that one time was for only around a 1/4 of the time it usually takes. Oh, and I won't allow a JD on the property....😳😬🤫

Got a lower bill than normal at Costco. It was primarily for vitamin supplements and just a few groceries. The vitamins / supplements cost more than the food.

Wifey was happy, she got a bunch of the supplies / yarn she wanted AND it was on sale at 30% off!

Max was happy.... he got to go for a car ride! He loves going for rides, every time I touch keys, he gets all excited and looks up at his harness and leash, then looks back at me, the back to the leash.... I swear he really tries to communicate with us....

I was going to move the planter out of the shop when we got home, but I apparently misplaced my motivation again..... had dinner instead. After smelling that chicken all the way home in the car, well what else to do? . Costco rotisserie chicken is really good chicken...mmmmm...

I'll move the planter first thing in the morning before the rain is supposed to start. I have one hole that has to be done with the tractor / PHD, then I'll get the tractor back in the garage.

Drew, hope you can get that bolt installed without too much further difficulty. Look on the bright side... you're halfway done.....

RS, your lawn looks fabulous! Along with all the flowers! You and the woman should be very proud of the work!

We have a new TV channel OTA, called "The Story Channel". A take off from the History Channel. They have themes each day of the week, today is 'war and combat'. The shows are about the bombing of Pearl Harbor ..... going to get a bowl of IC to share with Max, and watch until bedtime.

Everyone have a peaceful evening!

67F and fair @ 21:45, heading down to a low of 63F or thereabouts.

Just returned from Menards about an hour ago, Woman alerted me earlier that the (plastic) fitting on the hose for the Shower Massage was broken and we were almost out of cat litter.

Used the opportunity to pick up a couple more of the plants (a "Kong Lime Sprite" Coleus and a New Guinea Impatiens) we got the other day when we were there. (She had asked me why I hadn't had told Her get more of them ... after we got home ...)

When I got back, I mentioned that they had them reduced to $2.99 (from $3.99) ... She said "You should have gotten more" ...

Filled hopper feeder first thing, also two suet feeders.

After that I took the dump cart around back for the weeds She had pulled, hooked the Water Buffalo up and started it filling, and cleaned off the west half of the patio out back with the push broom and Stihl blower.

Around that time She appeared, to do more weeding in the flower bed, and suggested that I might give Her a hand ... so I indulged that obsession for a while.

Eventually I got hungry, She was ready for a break and headed up to warm up the leftover Dominos and I took the Water Buffalo up and watered the Yarrow and Salvia up in front of the shop with MiracleGro. Each plant got 1 gallon.

Salvia is about done blooming:

Yarrow still going strong though:

It all needs weeded and mulched.

After that was finished I came down and ate and then headed back up to water the hosta around the big maple behind the shop. Those got around 20 gallons:

The mulch there around the perimeter is starting to break down and dirt is showing, so that's candidate for tomorrow's work schedule since it's all in the shade.

Used the last of the water on the lilac bush, gave it around 9 gallons:

It really needs moved from where it is (west side of large maple with the hosta around it) - doesn't get enough sun.

After that I took the Water Buffalo around back and started it filling again and pulled up the landscape staples holding the tarp on the east side of the garden down.

Hooked the dump cart - which was now full of weeds - up to the Cub, collected the tarp in the cart, which was trashed, and mowed over the area which had been tarped. That brought Her around back to see what the mower going on and off was all about at which point I suggested that if She would bring the garbage out when I came up I'd haul it up to the can at the road. She had forgotten about it and was glad I had remembered ... :giggle:

So I took the garbage up to the can at the road, ran into neighbor who came over to chat for a bit. He just sold his house and is moving to California, noticed the tarp as I was stuffing it into the can and volunteered that he had a basically new tarp that he had no need for and if I wanted it, it was mine. He didn't have to ask twice ... ;)

Once we finished chatting I headed over to the compost pile and got rid of the weeds and recovered one of the Woman's garden gloves which was laying on the top of the pile.

Wasn't too long after I got back down to the house that I got a text from Menards that the order was ready for pickup so off I went.

Something has clipped the tops off around 6 tomato plants and 4 peppers, so I'm going to go move those into the garage tonight. Woman said She saw more chipmunks scurrying around out front today so will need to set the traps up again tomorrow, although I'm not sure what it is that's eating them.

Probably see if I can't get some of those yellow and red bell pepper seedlings repotted after that.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Good early (Tuesday) arvo. Another mild night with the low being 11C. It's the Winter Solstice down here so it's the shortest day. I received an early morning rain shower of 1.6mm in the gauge. The high is predicted to be 14C, it's overcast with a light breeze... barely moving the flag on the pole.

Into town to see my Doctor as a follow-up to the blood test the other week. Basically, he's upped my Type II diabetes "Metformin" from 500mg to 1000mg plus he wants me to re-start 'prick-testing'. It must be an 'age' thing 'cause I've not changed my diet.

Well, I'm dressed so I might as well wander out to the shed and putter.

Take care all.

I know Mate... It's just a bugger and an embuggerance that, even watching what I eat and do, the prescriptions creep up over time.

"She'll be right." At least my kidney function came out great... especially as I've only got one of them left (or 'right', as the case may be). 😄
