Good Morning.
It’s 53 and going up to 77, another clear day for anything outside.

Yesterday was a good day for outside chores, loaded the Makita string trimmer, hedge trimmer and blower into the Carryall and made the rounds, including along the lane and outbuildings. I’m very impressed with the battery tools, I got a lot done without needing a recharge on any of them. Put all the tools away and loaded up the carryall with the trimmings from the shrubs to dump at the brush pile.

Wife wanted me to replace a plant hook that rusted off with another similar one that she bought. I decided to make one from stainless, as I had some small 1/8” sheets. Cut a strip off with the plasma cutter

Drilled a couple holes in it, and formed the hook in the Diacro bender

And ended up with a nice stainless plant hook

Took it over to the house and installed it

Cooked some burgers on the grill and ate with Son, DIL and grandson, his little brother and fiancé came by later, daughter checked in by phone, a nice Father’s Day all around.

Today will start off with an AC service call for my friend who is swamped. Not sure what will follow, but I never seem to have a hard time staying busy.

One of the “rewards” of growing old is the health challenges we face as well as growing more fragile and more accident prone. So to all of us chronologically gifted out there, take care and win the battles that you are fighting.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:15AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 94F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Headed into the 100F range tomorrow, and will stay there until a week from Tuesday. Summer jumped the gun this year.

Sounds like most of you had a happy Father's Day. Here's to many more.

The weather didn't exactly cooperate this motorcycle tech weekend, but it was a nice time anyway. My usual route to Tahoe is over CA70, but since it's closed, I dodged around the south end of Oroville and wound my way to CA49 and over the Sierras to CA89. That got me to Truckee, and then on to Kings Beach. Very nice ride, with lots of pretty mountain views. And almost no traffic. Nice dinner out at a Mexican restaurant where I picked up the tab for a pitcher of margaritas, and another guy got dinner. Our host got a free ride.

Next morning dawned a bit cloudy and quite cold, just below freezing. We had an early breakfast out, then finished setting up the tables and chairs, and did some last minute snack prep. The first rider showed up a little after 9AM, almost frozen to his handlebars. A cup of hot coffee helped thaw him out, but the gathering clouds signaled it wouldn't be warming much during the day. Our host and I headed off to find a propane camp fire to help cut the chill, and came back with a store second that was a bit worse for wear but came with a discounted price. It started to snow, and got heavier as we climbed the hill back to the event site. Only a few more riders showed up, so we had to be content fixing the camp fire instead of working on bikes. I guess the weather forecast scared most of 'em away. The up side is there was a lot less to clean up.

It was still pretty cold Sunday morning, but a big breakfast and a little foot dragging let it warm up into the mid 40s before I left. Heated jacket and grips kept the chill away until I'd made it back over the Sierras and down to warmer weather. A gloriously bright sun shining in a blue sky didn't hurt, either. The day before was for sure Winter's last gasp. I was home in a couple hours, unpacked, and treated myself to a nap. Then finished up some paperwork.

Hope everybody's week gets off to a great start!

58°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 96° today. Triple digits tomorrow, then 90s the rest of the week until Sunday. A voice on the radio suggested we may get some rain at some point this week, but nothing is showing on the iThingie weather widget yet.

15 steps is a lot of things to hit on the way down, Buppies. Hope your wife's knee heals quickly, and nothing else reveals itself along the way.

Good morning, gents.

Good Morning All
I went to a Father's Day Car Show / BBQ after church on Sunday. It was good, probably 85+ entries along with my El Camino. Weather wasn't perfect (wet) but still a good event. When I'm in the El Camino I love it, when I struggle to get out of it, I realize repeatedly that I bought it as an investment (undervalued) and I really do need to sell it ... That, or get a decent knee brace, which is probably a different matter altogether.

Toppop52 - praying that you continue to feel better, and that you get past these challenges soon. Thanks for the update.

Prayers for many others also as I go through my list, - take care Kyle.

rswyan - impressive, looking good

RoundUp is banned in many communities here in BC (public and private use), so it's one of those Don't Ask, Don't Tell situations, but I still have some, for the stubborn weeds

buckeyefarmer - losing those posts that you spend time on is frustrating, happens too often when to edit a typo and hit the wrong key :( glad that the pig roast was good, I haven't been to one of those in years

I hear the chickens squawking - think I'll take a look (back shortly). Go figure, it's 5:30 AM (I'm between naps as per back injury) and as soon as I get up to check, the chickens settle down. I'll check them at a decent hour instead. Neighbour at the other end of the road lost a few birds to predators recently (ravens, crows, coyote), lost her best Roo.
While I was feeding the birds Sunday night, I noticed two banty roos working out the pecking order. They went at it for about 10 minutes ignoring the food. One was a favourite chocolate coloured one that wife calls "Chocolat" - another, much larger roo broke up the fight, but Chocolat wanted nothing to do with that ... so Chocolat and RooPaul2 went at it for 20 minutes. As I finush up, RooPaul2 is limping ... Chocolat won (2 fights)... I decided to bring RooPaul2 over to my neighbour, after a quick checking over. He'll be fine in a day or two after a recovery period in segregation. He throws really nice chicks, so hopefully that will bless the neighbour. If it doesn't work out there, I will take RooPaul2 back and reintroduce him to the flock.
coop update - 1 baby chick, 10 eggs in incubator, 3 broody hens with small clutches of eggs, 12 in total --- we'll see how the next 2-3 weeks go with all of that

Alien - nice project, I love the colours

wngsprd - good story :) what a flirt . Snake photo is great. I hope to never run into a rattler, I don't think I'd get away quick enough

Fuddy1952 - it's healing up nicely

sodoma - I love those days because they make me feel productive ... dump runs, burns and recycling.

ultrarunner - HI

LS - stay safe, I dislike fire-season (April - Oct here) but this year it has been so wet. Even recent Thunderstorms have been okay.

PJSprog - good man, wifey will like that, ... brownie points for sure

mostly_gas - another good update

Buppies - prayers for your wife as she recuperates from the fall, 15 stairs is significant

popgadget - nice work, and basket is nicely placed

back for a nap now :) :) it's still too early to start my day. I might get some tractor time today - probably a good idea to put some extra gravel down by the cars, so I'll see what I can make of it ... way too wet right now. cheers all
