David, I used to stock pile any wood scrap that was 6" or greater.... only problem was that I continually made more scrap.....

I finally gave in and got rid of 2 trailer loads that filled a 4x8x4' high trailer. Never missed those smaller scraps. Now I only keep pieces that are bigger than 12", most are 16"+. I am finding that I now use more of the scraps and the stack is very manageable.

Now if I can stop collecting every piece of metal that I come across......

Yup, definitely relate. What I’m burning up is basically most of the cutoffs from building the house. Just finished another box, but couldn’t resist resaving the 2-3 ft long oak pieces.

58°F and clear skies this morning, and got up to 86° today. Pretty much a mirror image of yesterday. Nice respite from the heat. Back up into the 90s here through next weekend.

Got The Wife's small step stool finished yesterday morning. Basically knocked it apart and reglued and clamped it. It was a $12 cheapy from At Home (formerly Garden Ridge), and it had very little in the way of glue. Not the case anymore. It'll hold me now. Cleaned up a few of her grandfather's old tools while I was in the garage, and now it smells like Ballistol in there.

Got a few things done this morning after running some errands, and finally got my 4TB HD drive hooked up to my studio computer and all the music and video files backed up on it. It's surprisingly quiet, even though it won't be running while I'm recording anyway.

Jeez, you guys are busy over the weekends.

Our local scouting troop took over the flag retirement duties from the VFW. They have an old curbside mailbox near one of the ball fields in town that is designated as a flag drop. Our last one went there.

Good afternoon (or arvo, if you're on that side of the planet), gents.

Good late (Monday) morning. A very 'balmy' night with the low only 12C. The high may get to 15C, it's overcast with a gentle breeze and there was 1.4mm in the gauge, mostly from yesterday afternoon.

That's about it... take care all.

60F and fair @ 21:45, heading down to a low of 58F overnight. High today was 76.3F, low was 47.3F.

All potted plants watered front and back.

Trip down to the corner for 3.5 gallons of gas.

Front lawn mowed.

Cub threw the transmission drive belt at the tail end of the mowing of the front, took about an hour and half to get it back on, partly because neighbor stopped by and we shot the breeze for a bit. Fortunately it happened in the shade of that big maple tree up behind the shop.

I did have to go get a small floor jack down at the house, some tools, and cribbing to block it up so could get under it to figure out what was going on and then get the belt back on. Wasn't too bad.

Was just finishing that up as The Woman got home.

She broiled some dogs and heated up some Bush's Baked Beans for dinner.

After dinner I finished up the mowing on the compost/wood lot and did some weeding and cultivating in the garden. Also watered the plants I put out recently to ensure they get a good start.

Need to grab a shower to get the dust off and then probably hit the rack.

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day ... (y)

The link still active but the jist is only a few acres with tremendous response because under the wrong conditions that is all it takes for thousands of homes to burn.

One of security cams at church building stopped working. Took it down and tried on different cable, still didn’t work. Brought it home still didn’t work. On my way to bed I noticed IR glowing, so knew it was on. ran a tool on it and found it’s static IP address changed. Not sure how that happened, but got it fixed.

At $50 each I ordered 2 more IP POE cameras, been wanting to put more up.
