Had a church breakfast and budget meeting this morning. Then I forgot to take the laptop back to test it.

Got cider and a pie at the orchard.

Boy was it windy today, and some snow squalls.

Then had a date night with 3 other couples at place in PA. Restaurant in an old barn.

Good evening all. 27ºF for the start, clear, light breeze. Light wind day, sky stayed clear, and high temp was 64º, DP 21ºF. Bike ride this morning, departure delayed for warmer temps. Nap very good

Mostly, thanks for the prayers for my daughter. She/We need them. Trying to teach her perspective about long term decision making.

So the hydraulic cylinder rod was bowed about 15mm off of centerline. It took up to 9tons of force to bend it past CL then spring back. It took an indicator and an hour to get it back close.

2 seal kits needed for 1 cylinder cost 83.

Cheapest price for gas here is $3.06/gallon, but other stations are $3.25 or higher. Costing me almost double now for my commute. Grrrr.

Good morning, low 5 high 30°F. Wind SSE 9 mph. Periods of snow. None yet.

Yesterday morning after I posted I went back to bed for a couple of hours, got up and at 9:15 went out and fired up the tractor. The 2cm or about 3/4" turned out to be 6" of powdery snow. New neighbour across the street with his fairly new Ford F 150 4x4 was stuck in his driveway...Up to the frame, he buried it. He wanted to 'borrow' a shovel, I told him I didn't lend anything of mine for any reason, but I would pull him out.
I got him out. By the looks of the tracks he waited until he was already into the deep stuff before engaging 4 wheel drive. All season radials didn't help either.

That was the highlight of my day.

Other than plowing I've got nothing I want to do today, so an energy conservation day.

cold morning, getting up to about 40 today in sunshine.

off to church, then home to work on an investing project, researching socially responsible/green investment opportunities for church.
I'm the only one on our finance committee that has had securities licenses so this pretty much wound up in my lap. Before I retired I was pretty up
on green investing, need to refresh.
When that's done, sister is going to chat on zoom later today.

Surprised to see 13° this morning, but it was cold out there last night.

Not sure what’s on agenda after worship. Our church was discussing green investments yesterday, what will be planted to replace some dead bushes, and who would do the mowing this summer. Last few years we invested in a young guy who we’ve been helping a lot, yet he continues to make bad personal choices and gets fired from every job we help him get. Time to move on.

Laptop not working again, think this new laptop is a write off, can’t get Dell to provide any new answers, they keep saying update drivers, which I’ve done many times. Pretty sad that Dell won’t give adequate support for a brand new machine. All the tech support is in India.

TBN has been slow lately.

I’ve been busy with my picture site, over 3k and now getting hundreds of new requests to join.

Eric, I use a couple of wet paper towels, press onto the ash powder in the stove, and then rub it on the inside of the glass...sometimes takes a couple of goes at it...then wipe with a clean wet paper towel until the glass is clean, and then a dry one. Hope your weather mellowed.

Toppop, every now and then I hear of an escaped prisoner taking up in the Great Dismal Swamp. I think I told you one time of canoeing up into Lake Drummond and around.

Had a rough day with tree felling yesterday...a dead oak fell into a huge maple...it hit a branch which slid into the trunk and they crossed arms with each other. My aim was off only a couple of degrees. I had to use a chain and tow strap multiple times to finally pull it out, using the safer method than last time. I don't think I've ever worked so hard for that amount of firewood. But, I'm finally caught up.

Oldest son and DIL came by to visit. My wife had brought her mom here for dinner and to spend the night...so we had a party...played Crazy 8's (Don, we don't know H&F). I had just finished roasting coffee, so had a willing taker in my DIL.

Thomas, we have one chipmunk that has not hibernated all winter, while all the others have. Unshelled peanuts are its favorite food. It was even up running around in the snow. Strange to see.

4F clear sky might reach 30 mid afternoon...about 2" more in some areas from the gusty winds.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...clean walks deck etc. and scrape driveway of snow,town for critter food also diesel,watch some of Daytona race,good chance I'll make old fashion meat loaf for dinner.
