Wngsprd, there use to be tour boats from the canal to Lake Drummond and there was a lodge at the lake.
I heard a lot of stories about the Indians, white criminals and maroons living on the islands in the swamp, from the old folks when I was a kid. They would come out and steal livestock and disappear into the swamp. It seems the Indians and whites disappeared within a few years of the maroons arriving. Not sure what conclusion to draw from that.

Thanks for honors, Drew, but to be truthful, while we have kept up with the internal areas, I’ve been slack with my outer areas due to caretaker priority and rain. Now almost to the point if I don’t get to it I’ll regret it.

JDZ, that is what I do. I haven't mowed since November and wont mow until probably mid April, maybe. Just spaced out a little in winter.

actually since we are an international site, our friends from Down Under have different seasons
Northern and Southern hemisphere and summer/winters are reversed?
Is it late summer in Chile?

Is this when Doug tells us it's 120 in the shade? My memory was it gets mighty hot there.
Of course so does Death Valley in California. Great built in advertising for hvac contractors.

Nice and comfortable day out. 58° currently with a high of low 60's.

Daughter was sick the other day with some viral bug that's going around. So we watched the little man the other night so she could get some rest.

Well, wife came down with it today.

Means I probably get to look forward to it soon as well.

We were supposed to host supervised visitation for the grandkiddos mom (son has full custody). But with the wife being sick it got canceled at the last minute.

speaking of geographical time zones, unless I have this totally backwards... Eric is way ahead of most of us.
And since most Englishmen think civilization started in England, it is only appropriate they should be ahead of us, as is Europe.
You can see that real time watching the foreign stock markets, when they open and close. The DAX is a day ahead of the Dow.
And the Hong Kong Exchange even further ahead.
Wouldn't be so if this world just stopped spinning, which I hope it keeps on doing.

headed out to put cover back on mower. Sure doesn't like 40mph guests.
