27F. What are those pock marks/holes in the dirt on the upturned stump? They don't look natural.

I don't know and they aren't there any more...I whaled on that stump with the grapple tines and it's quite a bit smaller now, plus I dug out around the stump. Almost looks like voles or something lived under there. Maybe they undermined the tree. ?

Decided to support our big advertiser and now for me a local NC business. Ordered a heavy duty rear blade and landscape rake from
ETA, located about four hours directly West of me. Plus a FEL attachment with forks for picking up pallets and equipment.
If I come pick it up they will eat the sales tax, nice discount considering it's 7 percent in NC. I'll just put the trailer on the truck and have a pretty long ride over, all on major roads, past Raleigh, never been that way. Going to be a long day for sure. Probably next week. Need these things for clearing the road back to the pond. My project for January assuming it's not Mud City back there. I'm used to the ground being frozen in January, maybe not here. I decided on a blade and not a box blade, because the ETA one comes with detachable wings that can function as a light duty dirt holder. I have a TNT on the Kubota and have been looking forward to trying it out cleaning out a ditch. Actually I think my one six foot deep ditch is way too deep for this, but the blade should help clearing the road I'm going to build.

And I will certainly take lots of pics when I go visit ETA. Here's Ted on the phone. Here's Peanut doing what peanuts do...:D

You can count on it!

Thanks for the Welcome Larro, I wanted to buy a Blue one but just could not swing a deal that I was happy with. Ended up with what I think will be a real nice Orange one.
Welcome aboard Tim I see you live over by my old friend Mark Evans!!

Good morning! Weekend of parties is over. SIL 50th BD and then the Biggie my parents 65th Anniversary. It was rainy and cold just like the day they were married. Both are still living at home, still farming and Dad still driving his tractor (Ford 45hp)- one of the first ones I saw in the county with a front end loader. He taught me the uses and importance of a FEL long before TBN and I impressed him with the uses of hydraulic ports and a grapple.

It's now 31˚ with a heavy frost and 71˚ inside with a nice fire that started quickly from last night coals. Bright sunny day, getting into the 60s!

I hope everyone has a good day.

We are waiting to hear today about the biopsy on my step fathers lung Friday. At 85, he's already had 2 quad bypasses, prostrate cancer and now emphysema.

I guess that's what 40 years of smoking will do to you....

Good Morning. 0945, rain, 64F with 100% humidity. Forecast high of 68F with 30% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 53F tonight. We've had 2.3" of rain since midnight, but it has eased off a little right now. It looks like the temps will be dropping from about noon on. I'm glad I'll be going back to work tonight. Not much going on, but I do need to water the lobby plants. Then I don't have anything until the weekend. Margie took the day off. Her and Cousin Dee are gone somewhere shopping. Judging by their past history, I won't be seeing them before I leave for work.

I still have my lifting in front of me, so I had better turn this PC off and pull those gloves on. To only lift twice a week, those days sure seem to roll around mighty often:(

Drew, oaks come down like that it when high winds combine with the dirt being so wet the roots pull loose. We always lose a few big old oaks that way during slow, rainy hurricanes.

Hope everyone is having a good day,

Larro

Morning, or, afternoon boys. Rainy weather here in Georgia before and after Christmas. Augusta area had the most rain ever recorded for December 24. Plus, Christmas Day - I got that ridiculous flu that's going around! Took flu shot, but yappari, didn't work for this kind of flu. Woe is me woe is me... We're gonna make it - maybe.

Drew. The Dixie stampede was a good show. It was their Christmas show and I didn't think it was as good as the original we seen over 9 years ago when we got married. The boy loved the first half with all the horses but once they got into the Christmas part of it the had a full belly and it just put him to sleep. No pictures allowed sorry. Off to the aquarium and ober Gatlinburg when he wakes up.

Buenos Tardes.

What a slow day. Sitting here at the office computer. Had something this morning, but since I have come back, there is NOTHING going on. Most other offices are closed, and co-workers all took the week off, so e-mails are not returned and leaving lots of voicemails. It's only going to get slower as the week goes on. Wednesday and Friday will be an absolute joke. At this point, I'm going into victory formation and taking a knee to let the clock run out on 2014.

Slow day, nice and sunny, but cold. Didn't get much done today, but I'll survive that :) We went for a walk today, our dogs loved it, running back and forth, we walked maybe 2 miles, they must have done 5. Trying to get some thinking done, about what we want to do this year. If you don't set some goals, you can't achieve any?

If you don't set the goals in advance, it's all just stuff you happen to get done!

sseelhoff his recommendations WxSouth/ facebook and WxRisk/facebook. He really had none for south central Texas but if you read what these guys have to say they do cover your area and can give you a heads up on what's coming one two three weeks out. I read them every day especially Wxisk videos which can be very informative and come roughly once a week and are free. Hope this helps

Today when Margie and Cousin Dee were on the way to Chipley shopping they spotted four tractors for sale. On the way back they stopped for pictures. They are a little too old for what I want, but it was still nice of them to be thinking of me. They were Ford, Oliver, International Harvester and John Deere. Now if I was a man of leisure with lots of money and barn space, it might be different.
