Good Morning
57 going to 77 today with rain and thunderstorms.
So far this morning the Davis says .31 inches of rain, the Tempest is claiming .32. They must know that their referee is coming today.

Yesterday I mowed all the pastures to beat today’s rain. I greased the 90” 3pt finish mower while I had it out. Battery powered grease gun is worth its weight in gold. I managed to get a little speaker work done, and counted all the poles and stakes for the canopy I picked up last week to make sure there’s no surprises when we put it up Saturday.

Today I’ve got 50lbs of Pork Butt to trim and rub to go into smoker tomorrow evening for Saturday’s party. Then it will be back to speakers.
Looks like I’ve got to go to Marsh Harbour again tomorrow, so I’ll have to get all the customs paperwork done today, I will be quite busy when I get home, firing up the smoker and getting the pork loaded into it, followed by a band rehearsal. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and not throw a wrench in my (tightly) scheduled plans.

1/4” of rain overnight and more coming next couple of days. 68 now with around 80 later.

Cardiology appointment today, six month check up.

I have a kitty that I have to schedule to be euthanized, she’s 21 and wasting away. Now all she does is eat 5-6 times a day and sleeps in between. She doesn’t seem to be in pain and I don’t want her to be. She’s down to about six pounds. Charlie was my mom’s and our shop cat. I rescued her at about six weeks old. She was in our shop every day for fourteen years. She’s been here over seven years. I feel like she’s my last connection to mom. But, I can’t be selfish at her expense, and mom will be glad to see her.

My wife has a cat that’s scheduled for Friday. Same situation just not quite as old. She lives with her son at her old house.
This is the price for years of love and companionship.

64°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 81° today. The thunder storms predicted for yesterday apparently missed us. Most all of the rain went to the south. There was one still lingering in the area this morning, also a bit to the south.

Good news on your test, Roy. My Wife recently started drinking that Boost stuff on occasion. She has a terrible habit of getting too busy doing things and missing meals. Someone recommended that stuff to her, and she seems to like it. I tried one (strawberry flavor) and it wasn't awful.

Good morning. 78° in Kernville California this morning. A good deal of sunshine. Hot. High near 100F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph.

you’ll like the new EA grapple, Paul, but the short bottom will take some practice before you can easily grab things with it.

I spent the night before last at Mono Hot Springs, but never did find an empty pool for myself. The restaurant was also closed, so had to make do with a ground buffalo burrito and some crackers from my saddle bag. They did have a nice pair of beers for me though. The road in and out of the place is a loose collection of patches interspersed with some fairly large potholes. It’s also very steep and seldom wide enough for two vehicles to pass. The last 10 miles took most of an hour to get over, and I think I left my back teeth somewhere along the trail.

this was taken near Kaiser pass. Shortly after, a large truck used for delivering dumpsters came by, and the road was too narrow for him to get by without me moving. Even then his tires were only 6 inches from by handlebar end. The rest of the day was spent on very twisty roads that were in much better shape. Stop for a delicious barbecue lunch, with more hot miles through the foothills. This motel is the lap of luxury compared to my little tent, so I’m treating myself to two nights before heading north again to join the airheads for another campout. Today I’ll make a loop out over Walker Pass, returning via Sherman Pass. So far the only snow I’ve seen is tiny patches in the shade a big rocks. Another sign of just how bad the drought has gotten out here.

I was able to find a replacement battery that fit perfectly and seems to be working just fine. No other problems that I know about, fingers crossed.

Hang in there gang, Friday is coming!
