Good morning!!!!

we had Carp boiled and ground up as kids, family is from Austro-Hungary (yes came in 1800's on that side), Ukrainian and Lithuanian. Never make it myself, wife is Irish/English/Scottish and not a fish person, not even kippers.
Ken you have just made me realise that this pesky pandemic has also been curtailing my enjoyment of kippers and smoked cod. I am only allowed to indulge in stinky fish when my wife has a day out with friends, something she hasn't been able to do for over a year.

I don't know what has got into the sheep this last week, they seem to be competing with one another for who can get most stuck. With so much rain this ewe could have picked a better place for her attempt, stuck fast in a metal creep gate. Had to take a hacksaw to the metal bars to get her out.

39°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 72° today. I was hoping to have today off to get my car in for its 30K mile service. Couldn't get an appointment for today, so it's going in Monday instead. Looking at the weather forecast, today would have been much more preferable.

Wife came home last night and popped into the studio to tell me something about her day. She saw on my computer that I was on a custom guitar builder's website putting together the specs for a new 6-string headless bass guitar. She gave me "the look." Not buying anything immediately, but I can see it probably happening sometime this year. Not going to be cheap, but still about half what the last custom bass cost me.

Eric, your sheep seem to be doing that "hold my beer" challenge thing.

Reminds me of the old "Big butts drive me nuts" quote, but the ewe takes it to a whole 'nuther level! ;) 🤣

I haven't had any kippers in many, many years; used to sometimes have them for lunch when I carried my lunch to work. And smoked cod? Never tasted a smoked fish I didn't like. I occasionally enjoy some canned sardines, but I guess our wives have something in common. Mine hates even the smell of the sardines.

I'll never forget going to a party one night where the host and hostess had all kinds of food set out, and after awhile, our host pointed at one dish and asked if I knew what that was. I told him, "Yep, that's smoked oysters. And with a funny look on his face, he said, "That's right, but you didn't like them, did you?" I thought they were delicious, but it turned out he had bought them as a joke, thinking that NO ONE would like that stuff.

Eric, your sheep does not look happy at you photographing her predicament.
If you don't like the smell of cod cooking, cut an orange across the sections in half and put it cut side down in a small sauce pan of water on the back burner of your cooker on a low heat. Just refill the water whenever you need to. The orange will take away all of the stinky fish smell.
I know this because I absolutely hate the smell of cod cooking.

I did get a new blade for the lawn mower and installed it. I got the north field cut and the engine spit and sputtered and backfired and quit. It restarted readily enough and ran real rough, Listened closely to it and I believe there is a rod pounding. No more grass cutting with that mower. I'll wait until the fall and maybe get another one when they come on sale. One thing is for sure, the new one will NOT have a kohler engine. If it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.

Not sure whether the mower you're looking at is a rotary cutter or a flail, Ken, I have a Betstco 68" flail. I'd be leary of using a flail to clear trails. My experience is even if you put hammer knives in it, they won't stand much abuse from rocks or sticks. And the knives are $$$ expensive to replace.

Ken, be sure you get extra hammers. I broke a fair amount early on, my fault trying to mow rocks. Don’t break then so often now.

I love anchovies on my pizza.

I'm allowed to get them ... as long as they come not on the pizza, but in a separate AND SEALED container ...
