unmitigated disaster
yup, some days that's me...;)

RS, nice cart find

Thanks ... I think I got a good enough deal on it, that even if I have to do a complete re-power the price was still right.

Hope your shoulder/arm is doing better ... enjoy the mulch.

Is that a Freightliner golf cart/utility cart? Any pics of a what it looked like new? Looks like a rare find.

The new shingles, under layment, wind turbines, etc. etc. was delivered this afternoon and the roofers are supposed to be here about 7 a.m. tomorrow. Sure hope the rain holds off one more day, AS FORECAST.

Now I figure it's going to be awfully noisy in the house with them working on the roof, so I'll prove I'm not afraid of hard work. I plan to find a comfortable place in the shade and watch them most of the day.

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 4:30AM. Partly cloudy. High 92F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Looks like the weather will be a little bit cooler moving into the 10-day, but that comes with the threat of thunder and lightning over the weekend. With everything already so dry, that's not something I look forward to.

I wonder how long it'll take the authorities in each state to adopt the new CDC mask guidance. Only about half the people I saw on my shopping run yesterday were still wearing masks, so maybe it doesn't matter. But only about half the US population has had at least the first of two shots, so if the unvaccinated are the ones going without masks (how do you tell who's been vaccinated?), there could be another surge in the disease. From a personal standpoint, though, at least I feel safer out in public, having passed my two week post second shot date last week.

You hit the nail on the head, Rick. I found that out the hard way with Verizon. Dumb as a post at the store, but excellent tech support by calling in. And all by people that spoke English as a first language, which is kind of important when discussing technical details over the phone.

When I got the string trimmer head out for big handlebar trimmer yesterday, I found parts for two different ones. And they're both aftermarket parts. It turns out that Stihl doesn't sell the head with the rest of the trimmer, and as I remember it the local dealer just put a cheap piece of junk on it that was a constant pain to load and make work right. I replaced it with one that uses short lengths of 0.150" heavy duty lines, which lasted longer but were a PITA to change. So yesterday I did some googling and learned about a Shinwada head that lots of folks say works really well and holds a lot of easy to replace line. Mine should be here Sunday. Still gonna have to experiment with the line itself, as the memories of what I have on the shelf aren't that good, either. They're a big reason, along with the string trimmer throwing a pebble that broke a thousand dollar sliding glass door, why the handlebar trimmer wears a hedge shear now. But the shear doesn't work very well in tall grass like I have now, so it's back to the string. Anybody got a favorite brand of heavy duty string they like?

It's been hot enough here that I've started running the A/C unit in the afternoon. Yesterday I used the phone to turn it on as I was leaving town so the place would be cooler when I got home. Half way there I got a call from the new alarm company, which I didn't answer right away because I was driving. By the time I returned the call, they'd already called the police to respond. No big deal because the Sheriff is at least a half hour away, and they were able to call them off. But the system triggered another false alarm a few minutes later, and this time I was able to answer the call and told them to put the system on test mode for the rest of the evening. Turns out that one of the motion sensors was set to maximum sensitivity, and being thermal based, was getting tripped by the air getting moved around by the A/C. Or at least I think that's what is happening; I'll do some testing this afternoon after it warms up to make sure. Then I'm gonna have a little talk with the alarm company so they have some rules to follow before calling law enforcement. Such as verifying that there's been a break in by checking the door and window sensors, or the most obvious: Monitoring the streaming video.

I'm gonna start digging the terrace for the water tank this morning by scraping the area with the box blade to get the perimeter down. Then I'm gonna see how well the new tooth bar does on the FEL for digging. I already know it does pretty well scooping up dirt from a pile, but undisturbed ground is a different animal entirely.

TGIF gang!🥳🍻
I would not be happy living in an area that required such security measures. I can't even imagine it. I haven't ever locked my house or car in 20 years or so. In fact the keys live in the car. If they want it they can have it. Not even sure I can lock my house up. Must be some keys somewhere I guess. Our road is a no exit and all great neighbours although none are close. Rarely a 'foreign' car even drives up the road as it is not an easy to see entry to our road. I like it that way. Very sad that lowlifes think they are entitled to help themselves to others property.

Eric, your sheep does not look happy at you photographing her predicament.
If you don't like the smell of cod cooking, cut an orange across the sections in half and put it cut side down in a small sauce pan of water on the back burner of your cooker on a low heat. Just refill the water whenever you need to. The orange will take away all of the stinky fish smell.
I know this because I absolutely hate the smell of cod cooking.

I did get a new blade for the lawn mower and installed it. I got the north field cut and the engine spit and sputtered and backfired and quit. It restarted readily enough and ran real rough, Listened closely to it and I believe there is a rod pounding. No more grass cutting with that mower. I'll wait until the fall and maybe get another one when they come on sale. One thing is for sure, the new one will NOT have a kohler engine. If it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.
Funny you mentioned the Kohler Engine. I just watched a YT video of a bloke pulling one down that had dismantled itself internally. LOL Mine has a Kawasaki twin engine and I love it.

This is the Trimmer line I use.

I use same in .155 on our Swisher walk behind trimmer.

This is the trimmer head I use.

You just cut a few 12" lengths of the above line.

56F and mostly cloudy @ 21:30, heading down to an overnight low of 42F

Got cats and fish feed earlier, along with refill of hopper feeder for the birds.

Nest box No. 1 has at least two bluebird hatchlings in it, will get a better look next time I'm over there on the Kubota or Cub.

Got order from Menards picked up and unloaded. Even managed to do it a little clean up of the cab in the van at the stop lights on the way down and back ...

Put some mealworms out for the birds, and spread Deer Scram around west planting bed. Still no evidence of them munching on the hostas around the two ornamentals ... (y)

Took the Cub and dump cart to the upper lawn and did some trimming of low hanging tree branches, ended up getting six cart loads which I put on the burn pile.

Got Amazon order placed.

Still no indication/tracking number from Chapin on spreader replacement parts ...

Need to go out and check/aim the lights on the Cub and then put it way for the night.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Is that a Freightliner golf cart/utility cart?

It's an EZ-Go "Marathon" cart (produced from 1979 to 1994) ... they are a division of Textron.

The "Marathon" was succeeded by the EZ-Go "Medalist".

But it certainly has a Freightliner badge on the front cowling.

Possible it was something that was sold to Freightliner for use in their factory, ... but ours (ahem ... The Woman's) does still have the scorecard holder on the steering wheel ... so probably just a golf cart, possibly owned by a Freightliner fan at some point.

Guy I bought the 3PH blower from had a somewhat similar but much more heavy-duty vehicle that came out of the GM Lordstown plant ... although I think it had a probably had longer wheelbase and it had a long (6' ?) steel plate deck (and side skirting) behind the operator area.

Any pics of a what it looked like new? Looks like a rare find.

Possibly similar to this:

Although even that one is missing some stuff (handrails)
