Good morning.

Looks like no rain today (earlier forecast had 40% chance). So, I’ll spend the morning at the front desk of a local park tennis complex. Collecting money if folks want to play or want snacks/beverages.

Yesterday was an amazingly nice day and I got all the mowing done. Very pleasant.

Tomorrow we leave for Little Rock and a Mother’s Day trip. My wife is from Little Rock.

Have a good and safe day all.

MoKelly

My youngest goes to college just north of Little Rock in Searcy, but he’s doing remote right now. He will go back there in fall.

Is Lamberts cafe open with COVID rules? We want to hit that on our next trip.

I have always used the bucket and back dragged, too. I had my grapple on the FEL, so put on the rake and tried it. I like it much better, except my neck is sore from looking back over my right should for so long. Both the bucket and the rake are 6', but maybe the flex of the rake allowed a bit more control, and dragging forward allowed better accuracy, at least for me. Either way will get the job done, but I'll use the rake again next time.

I was thinking of trying a pine needle rake for the sticks and limbs in my woods.

Roy,

Plastic hopper - it's an an 8620B - supposedly 150 lb. capacity, but I've heard that it shouldn't be filled more than around 1/2 full because it's prone to instability (top-heavy) and tipping over on inclines (due to a narrow wheel track) when filled all the way up.

Primary draw on this one for me was the "Auto-stop" feature (material flow ceases when the wheels aren't turning)

It will likely get assembled today.

Will definitely ensure it gets thoroughly rinsed after every use - I have a fairly nice (older) tow-behind Sears Craftsman spreader that needs a little restoration (actually have the parts for it) ... probably due to not being rinsed (and lubed) after each use. Unit has an open gear drive on it and it's currently frozen up. Rainy day project.

Don't forget the lube !!!

;)

Pretty sure all have auto-stop (both of mine did).
Stability is a good point...the model I have has a pretty wide track and larger wheels/tires which helps a lot pushing through slop after snow blowing.
I've had 100 lbs. in this spreader...seems pretty stabile to me (thanks to the wider track and larger wheel combo)

After I bought the stainless model, I gave the plastic one to the company I work for to spread ice melt in the walk ways (partly for self preservation since my right leg doesn't work so good). Anyway, one winter season, they put it in a shed without any cleaning. It was totally useless last winter...I tried to free it up with PB Blaster (didn't work), so gave it to a maintenance guy at work. He used a lot of penetrating oil and finally got it apart and cleaned up as much as possible. He gave it to his neighbors who are elderly (like I'm not!) and somewhat handicapped.

Poured first cup of coffee. 30° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 54° with rain late morning an afternoon. Got lawn cut. But it was chilly while doing it. Did get drone out and took video sand pictures of neighbors place. I chipped up 4 large pine trees for them last week. They got it all spread. Took a different picture of my place while flying.

Still scanning my 60 + year collection of photos and film. Added a new scanner to tools. A Epson V600. Should be able to do all the older film from my Mothers and Dads collection with it.
Do not see rabbits at my place very often.

All the cat pictures and stories are great. Sassy has made friends with neighbors 3 cats. Follows them everywhere except up trees.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.
Nice looking spread Ron...indeed your busy man.

Lamberts!!! Yes - it’s open and operating as if COVID never existed. No capacity limits.

Servers still go by with pots full of food giving you samples if you want. Still throw you rolls. Still crowded.
