Coffee is brewing. 39 with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 54° with rain in PM. Got .2" of rain yesterday. Sassy found something to roll in. She got a bath. I thought she would learn that a roll gets a bath that she does not like. Grocery shopping this morning. Then a visit with cousins from out of town.

Mostly, the new scanner has ability to do photos larger than 8X10. Plus older style film. At his time I will continue to use the Plustek Photo Scanner. It is much faster and easier to use. For larger photos I will use the Epson. The Epson v600 has some nice software that seems to work good for fixing problems with old film and photos. For newer type film I use a Kodak Slide N Scan.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Ain't Old Age great? Night before last, I just couldn't sleep and have NO IDEA why. Wasn't worried about anything, no special or new problems; just laid in bed awake. But as a result, I was really draggin' yesterday all day; felt like I had trouble getting around. So yesterday afternoon, I went to bed before 5 p.m. and except for a trip to the bathroom once, didn't get up until nearly 4 a.m. this morning.

I THINK I've recovered; sure hope so 'cause the yard needs mowing. Wish we didn't have this 93% humidity.

I get those days. That why I have conserve energy days.  Wish I could get 11 hours of sleep to make for the bad night.

Good morning all.
Nice day today, cooler, 40's going into 60's with more rain tonight.

Kyle, good luck with those new tools, you should really appreciate the quality.

off to get a hair cut early this morning. Meanwhile painter is here painting the house, drives me nuts when I have to repeat
myself three times and still don't know if he understands. Si. Si. Really?....
Am thinking my new normal is going to require fluency in English, too frustrating otherwise. Of course that will sure cut down on the pool of workers.

shoulder throbbing like mad, this is really getting old. And I hate taking the pain pills. I guess where they cut the bone is taking its time to heal.

recent weather has been wonderful for garden, wondering where my tomato plants are that I ordered from Burpee. Time to plant them. Snowpeas about two
feet high and jumping up every day.

Good morning, low 31 high going to 54°F. Wind S 3 mph. 60% chance of rain/flurries.

The garage that I get most of my mechanical work done at also does light and heavy towing. When a vehicle is written off by the insurance company they have the option of keeping the vehicle. When they get enough of the wrecks they call for a scrapper to take them away. I offered them the mower and plow, they said yes. I also told them that they would probably have to take them off the trailer as they were way too heavy for me to take them off myself. No problem they said. Wanted to know if I wanted money for them, I said "no", they had done me plenty of favours over the past 20+ years, that this was a chance for me to return the favour. The mower is an old McCormick-Deering #7 horse drawn scicle bar mower. The plow is an old P&O 2 bottom trip plow. There is about 1,000 lbs of scrap iron there.
I may load them on the flatbed trailer I made out of a boat trailer IF I can get the pintle hook out of the receiver. If not then they will go one at a time on the Army trailer.

That is my day all mapped out.

Eric, I will ask her to read that after she gets up.

Have a safe day all

Wife picked up a rescue yesterday, a 10-year-old blind and deaf Australian Shepherd. The story is that she was dropped at a shelter somewhere in Arkansas by an older guy who said he found her on the side of the road. She was set to be euthanized (had already been drugged when the rescue showed up, and they had to carry her to the car). A local group had posted a story about her, and someone recognized the dog as belonging to the granddaughter of the guy who brought it into the shelter. She is skinny as a rail, you can see her ribs, and her claws haven't been clipped in so long that they are turning sideways and she can barely walk on them. Wife took her to a groomer today to take care of the claws and get a good bath. She's supposed to go to a vet on Wednesday to check her general health. We'll just have her for a few days, as she already has a long-term foster lined up waiting for her. She's a sweet old girl, and has been absolutely loving the attention and affection. Disturbing that someone would do this to a 10-year-old dog.

I want to be a people person, but people keep ruining that for me.
Outstanding story, PJ...proud of you and your wifey...
Old dogs need love and respect too...our Boxer, Bella, is up in age too, and I'd hate some A-hole pulling that stunt. When it's her time, I'll be right there hugging her...and no doubt, tears in my eyes...

Good morning. Woke up to below freezing weather again, and fog on the lake! Still too cold fire up the water system at the rental property. However, it will be warm enough by the time the first renters come on May 20.

Meanwhile, my friend is replacing the floor in the rental kitchen with a laminate that looks like stone. Real nice look!

Will get some more seat time in today, because there’s only a little bit of rain coming this afternoon. Have to fill in the ruts in the driveway that occur every spring before the ground thaws completely.

Also got the generator shed out of the barn yesterday and set up. It is still just covered with Tyvek, and we really have to decide what kind of siding to put on it.

We still haven’t decided on the colour for the boathouse, but there is no rush as it will still be going down below freezing for a few more nights yet. Default is ‘Mississippi Mud’ which is kind of like a chocolate brown.

Coffee’s ready - enjoy the day all!

42 going to 65, but rain this afternoon.

Nice tools, Kyle...I really like that ratchet. Could have used one a couple of times this week.

RNG, I remembered another feature of using the rake on spreading gravel...I took too big of a bite out of the pile a few times, and left a long "wall" of gravel as I drove forward and it spilled out the sides. So, just angled the rake next pass to pull it back in and smooth it.

Finished my mowing yesterday without a T-storm interrupting me again.

How'd it get to Friday already?

Good Morning
It’s 42 with a high of 60. Beautiful clear skies, but rain coming this afternoon.

Yesterday was a productive day. I lost an anti scalp wheel on the Lazer while I was mowing, backtracked the areas that I mowed, but didn’t find it. Went to the local mom and pop mower shop to get a replacement. They don’t carry ExMark, but I figure it might be a generic part. He didn’t have one, but thought for a moment and told me to wait a minute. He went out to their graveyard, and came back with exactly what I needed. And he would not take any money! This is why we should support the little guy. He’s also the Chief of the local VFD, so he gives a lot to the community.
So I did get all the trimming finished and hitched up the progressive to the tractor and did the big areas. So all the mowing got done ahead of today’s rain.

Also got a lot done on the speaker in between mowing, which is the perfect activity for waiting for glue to dry.

Even washed the tractor before I put it away.
And to top it off DIL and grandson came by for a visit.
It was a great day overall.

Drew, I had to chuckle when you said the painter didn’t understand English even when you said it three times.......
