Lamberts!!! Yes - it’s open and operating as if COVID never existed. No capacity limits.

Servers still go by with pots full of food giving you samples if you want. Still throw you rolls. Still crowded.

Sounds like a place I went to several times, about 50 years ago in Chattanooga.

Hope Mrs RS had a nice birthday. Indian food? Curry what? :)

I was looking into one of those but I need a bigger yard, not much bigger. It holds 6 EGO batteries but only comes with 4. The replacement batteries - 56V 10ah - are $450 each. The zero emissions zero turn, also dubbed double zero, probably will be mandatory in California soon.
6 @ $450 No thanks. Zero turn batteries don't necessarily need to be light weight. Chainsaws, yes, big heavy mowers no...
Wife picked up a rescue yesterday, a 10-year-old blind and deaf Australian Shepherd. The story is that she was dropped at a shelter somewhere in Arkansas by an older guy who said he found her on the side of the road. She was set to be euthanized (had already been drugged when the rescue showed up, and they had to carry her to the car). A local group had posted a story about her, and someone recognized the dog as belonging to the granddaughter of the guy who brought it into the shelter. She is skinny as a rail, you can see her ribs, and her claws haven't been clipped in so long that they are turning sideways and she can barely walk on them. Wife took her to a groomer today to take care of the claws and get a good bath. She's supposed to go to a vet on Wednesday to check her general health. We'll just have her for a few days, as she already has a long-term foster lined up waiting for her. She's a sweet old girl, and has been absolutely loving the attention and affection. Disturbing that someone would do this to a 10-year-old dog.

I want to be a people person, but people keep ruining that for me.
Good for y'all. Hope the new home works out.
Of course not, it’s like brisket in TX.

I’d like to step back in time and get one from the old Tuck’s BBQ. While I’m there I might as well cruise the drive in circuit one last time. The town is there but the time is long past.
Butcha talkin' 'bout Willis?
50F raining. (y)
Mostly day of dodging rains drops.
Well Boo decided over night he wanted old quilt folded up in the back corner of shed and was successful now quilt under spruce tree,Boo only damage 2 light weight bars and show no interest 103lbs of bird feed stack.

Not much plan for the evening if Mrs. in the mood for Chinse for dinner so be it.

Enjoy the day all.
At what point does Boo Boo get to move inside? I really hope he doesn't hurt you folks. I'd seriously be thinking about lead poisoning.
Good afternoon, not a bad day here, much helped by being able to look at the radar map and timing work outside to avoid getting drenched by the thicker banks of cloud.

We got our 2nd shot of Astra Zeneca vaccine yesterday, 12 weeks after the first jab. When they first announced the untrialled extension of the time between shots, it caused a lot of debate and consternation in other countries in Europe, all of which faced the same issue of limited supplies. Even the World Health Organisation did not recommend this, so the experts who took this decision for the UK were quite brave to go with their own judgement. It looks to have been a very good call in difficult circumstances, one dose has proven to be enough to see hospital admissions and deaths drastically reduce.
That sounds a great plan (y)
No idea how my wife managed to pull that one out of the raised bed - I would have needed the loader and a length of chain !
That parsnip could've been used as a "dead man" hitching post!

I have a different take on opening up a church. If everyone (who wants them) has had their 95% shots, I've heard that if they get covid, it is a very mild case, and extremely rare that hospitalization is needed. At some point, you have to live life again. It seems those that want the shots, have gotten them, for the most part. It will be those that don't, that take the risk.

Ron, nice aerial shots, Glad you're posting. Hope your son is better.

The rains have greened everything up really nicely.

RNG, you will need a slope mower. Power Trac, Ventrac, Steiner....

I've fallen behind, and so much is going on.

Ken, are you out of the doghouse?

Check, did you pick a color?

I thought it was funny that the movie star award show, a week or 2 ago, hardly had anyone watch. Hahahaha...

Prayers for our team, Randy, Drew, Bupps, Stepp's son and family, Buppies, LS, L4N's DIL, Mostly's wifey. Ron and son. And those in need. And our Country.

49F and cloudy @ 22:30, heading down to a low of 42F in the overnight. Radar shows rain overhead right now ... but I haven't heard it so it may not be hitting the ground.

Delivery of the spreader went about as well as can be expected ... given that UPS was involved.

Box was banged up with one corner crushed, and a couple of holes in it where the axle had poked through:

IMG_1058 copy.jpg

On unpacking the spreader, it looks as though it may have been damaged in shipping, possibly by careless handling. The tubular metal frame is actually bent, so that one side sits further rearward (and lower) than the other. Possible it was designed and made that way I suppose, but I seriously doubt it.

I heard the driver toot the horn as they do when they drive up, but didn't head out at that point or unpack the spreader until later - just right after I went out to mow and discovered this:

IMG_1061 copy.jpg

After looking at them further, I'm wondering if they don't show both and entry AND exit path. That's the only way I can account for the wide variation in the tire tracks.

It appears that whoever made those tracks turned onto the lawn over near the woods coming in, then drove across it and pointed his (or her) vehicle directly into a 10' wide, 5' deep hole where the culvert empties out ... and actually ran his front wheels down into it 18" to 24".

First picture below shows (center of the image, and over to the right) where I believe the right front tire of the vehicle went down in the hole:

IMG_1067 copy.jpg

The following picture shows where I believe the left front tire came across the weeds and went down into the hole, and tore up the landscape fabric. You can actually see the path that the tire took if you look closely, where it flattened the weeds/grass.

IMG_1068 copy.jpg

The reason why I'm saying front wheels/tires is because I don't think they could have gotten the vehicle out, had it been the rear wheels. Plus there is some disturbance to the gravel where it appears the rear drive tires spun on the gravel, trying to get the front wheels out:

IMG_1062 copy.jpg

It's almost unbelievable ... and I have to wonder whether it was a deliberate, intentional act of malice.

Since The Woman did not observe these tracks this morning when she left, and since we had no other deliveries today, and since no one else down to the house at least as far as I (or the neighbors) know, I'll hazard a guess that it was the UPS driver.

If it was the driver who I had "the encounter" with this past winter, I wouldn't be at all surprised ... the guy had a very, very bad attitude. Not at all customer-oriented.

Regardless of who it was, the person should not be employed by UPS - or any other company - in a position that involves operating any type of a motor vehicle ... given the sheer level of incompetence it took to pull this little stunt off.

Keep in mind we have a turnaround here - and whoever it was, could have simply pulled straight through the circle and been able to exit the property ... no muss ... no fuss ... no bother.

A tipoff on how the day was going to go was probably when I went out to mow, and the garage door opener made a horrible buzzing sound when I tried to run it up and the door would not raise. A quick trip to a search engine yielded the likely diagnosis that it was a bad carriage trolley so I placed an order for one on Amazon. Will be here on Sunday (and thankfully likely not to be delivered by UPS)

On a more positive note, I did manage to get the lighting harness all installed and working on the Cub and get it all put back together.

But even that had one minor issue: the lighted rocker switch I ordered from Amazon was supposed to be red ... when I turned it on I discovered they had shipped a blue one instead ...

Hope everyone's day was better than mine ... (y)

35 right now...high in the upper 50's today

Kyle in Texas:
"6 @ $450 No thanks. Zero turn batteries don't necessarily need to be light weight. Chainsaws, yes, big heavy mowers no..."
I have an EGO snow blower (not the newer self propelled model) which takes 2 (7.5) Amp/h batteries. They're pretty heavy...I'm sure the 10.0 Amp/h batteries are considerably heavier.
Although I'm a big fan of EGO products, the idea or running out of juice a distance from the house doesn't interest me at all. My lawn (not counting the field) is somewhere between 2 and 2½ acres. That's right about the limit of a fully charged EGO ZTR. However, if I were to buy one, I'd consider rigging a solar charger of some sort

Have a great day, team!

Unless it's physically bent (you'd see a kink, I wager), it probably variation in the manufacturing process. Not that this should be an excuse or defense of sloppy drilling/tube bending though
My unit has one leg that sets slightly different than the other. Unit functions fine though...
