63 degrees this morning, going for 83 with a 10% chance of rain late in the day and a 20 to 50% chance of rain every day this week, We really do need the rain, and my yard needs mowing, so I reckon that's what I'd better get to doing as soon as it's daylight.

One of the "poor" cars my mom bought when I was young, was a used Studebaker Lark. I was young, but I believe it had a straight 6, 3 on the column and overdrive. No A/C.

Mostly, hope your wife's condition can be treated for the better. Prayers.

Hope Ron is OK.

I got the kawasaki mule done for my wifey's uncle. Rebuilt both front CV joints, troubleshot the fuel pump, changed oil. Charged him 9 hours @ 30/hr. He was glad to get it back. Most mechanic work is taxing on the body, if you're not in the best of shape.

Steiner Beast: changed the long v belt on the 72" deck. Belt size: A180. So now all the belts in the system are replaced. I had to take off some brackets to change it out. If you remember, I brought it back from near our salty coast. The deck has some rust spots. I just treated them with rustoleum rusty metal primer for now. Hope the fish oil slows the rust. I saw on FB, where a guy in my old hometown has a similar Toro mower for sale....$3500

I bought the belt for much less than a dealer. Dealer price about $45, V belt guys online price $7.99 plus 6.99 shipping. I ordered a belt for the Speedaire too, to defray shipping costs. If you need belts, I recommend the Vbeltguys V-Belt Guys Search - Replacement Belts, Quick & Easy

There is a pressure washer recall, mostly sold at Lowes. Turns out the green units, and some red, have plastic parts in the high pressure end that are exploding. It might be the wand where the hose attaches???

Our area is dry.

I let my daughter's boyfriend do some shredding on my 4310. He went slow. Nothing broken. Whew.

We had beautiful weather for the weekend, but we desperately need rain. We are in exceptional drought condition IIRC.

prayers for our team, and for America.

Good Morning
It’s 44 with a high of 50 forecast. Cloudy with intermittent rain
Got just over an inch of rain yesterday and overnight.

Yesterday I didn’t accomplish much other than to go play music for a recording session. That went pretty well, I didn’t know any of the other musicians other than the piano player, but they were all excellent players.

Today I’ve got to get back into the shop, another speaker order rolled in over the weekend, and I’m still finishing up the last one from the previous round. However the weather won’t try to lure me outside today.

Good morning, the temperature is 51 and going to a high of 64°F. Wind E 13 gusting to 20 mph. 40% chance of showers.

Wow, did it ever rain yesterday evening. The rain on the tin roof was really loud. Scared the cats and they all were in the basement.

I got nothing done yesterday except for putting the box trailer under the window so when the time comes to clear out this place, most of the stuff that is dump bound can go straight into the trailer.

Of the two kittens I acquired in December, there is only one left. The gray one got out and left. His brother has been wandering around all day yesterday and this morning 'calling' for him. They were really close and slept together most of the time. He has either gotten 'got' by a predator or he got himself lost.

Watched the Sinking of the Royal Oak yesterday. Good movie. Of a crew of 1200, 833 lost their lives.
It is on youtube if you are interested.

I don't know what I will get up to today, but rest assured it will not be too productive.

I've already got my summers worth of work mapped out, 7,000,000 Litres (1,851,851 US Gallons) of oil to deliver in total at 11,000 gallons/load. There will be three of us for the first 529,000 gallons, then the two of us for the rest of it. It's gonna be a busy summer.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning!!!! 4F @ 5:00AM. Partly cloudy. High around 85F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Yesterday and today was/is a no burn day due to winds and low humidity. I'm also limiting my work with ground engaging implements to the morning hours before the humidity drops down into the teens.

Yesterday I got the hot water pressure washer out and gave the tractor a bath. All of the FEL and grapple pivots were caked with old grease that had collected a lot of dust. It's been a while since the PW ran, and one of the safety switches was acting up, stopping the flow of propane to the burners. I wiggled wires and cleaned contacts on a few things, and it finally started. But the pump, at least according to the on board gauge, was only registering 200 PSI, about half what it should. I think it still works better than a regular pressure washer, but I'm thinking it's time to move on to something more reliable that works better...

Found a nice pile of oak logs just inside a neighbor's gate yesterday, but got permission to snatch them too late in the day to do anything, so that's on the agenda for today. Don't know how that will go with the logging company, as it looks like they'll be taking trees down on that part of the road.

Ended up at a neighbor's yesterday evening to pick up some old fire hose to slip over the grapple hoses to give them some protection. He was complaining about the 3PH on is JD, which wouldn't let the implement come back down once lifted. That and the actuating lever wouldn't stay in place. The lever was held on its shaft with two nuts, and tightening them solved the slipping problem. The valve that controlled the descent rate of the 3PH had a ball bearing/spring assembly inside, and when we took the ball bearing out the descent problem went away. So something about the seat in that valve is bad. But at least he can use it now. The tractor is pretty old, and parts are getting expensive and hard to find, so he may just leave it that way.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Good morning! 63˚F heading to the upper 80s, cloudy, dry. The lawn sprinkler system is set for twice a week, 6 zones about 15 minutes each. Hope to get a little rain this week since I fertilized Friday.

I put compost around the now foot high potato plants and sprinkled some vinegar to increase the acidy, I hope I did not kill them. This is the first time I tried increasing the PH with vinegar.

Mostly, hope the cardiologist can diagnose your wife this morning, those trips to the ER are not fun.

Kyle at $30 an hour for mechanic work your uncle got a good deal and you have a bigger slush fund for the "Beast".

A neighbor is selling his golf cart after selling his house. I'll see if I can talk mom into getting it to get her mail. His house sold in 3 days and over the asking price. The covid has reduced the available houses on the market and and some big companies are relocating from other states which is really making this a sellers market. Our neighborhood started building roads in its last phase last year and this year they are pouring new sold slabs every few days.

Bill, is an 11,000 gallon load considered oversize where you are? Are you maxxing around 50 tons?
that's a whole lot of oil
I think most big tankers in the US are 8000 gallons.

Does the operation of the various pipelines have an impact on what you do or haul?
Sure is a political and ecological football now, but I'm only interested in how it affects you.

And then you have a vision of a giant Mack pulling a triple through the Australian outback
raising a huge dust cloud

daugen; The truck (class 8) is licensed for 63,500 kg or 139,997 lbs. on 8 axles. That includes my butt in the seat.
The truck is a standard tandem axle truck and the semi trailers are a 3 axle and a tandem axle behind it. 'B' train configuration. Empty the whole unit weighs in at 20,000 kgs/44,093 lbs. I try to weigh in as close to empty of fuel as I dare. Approximately 90 - 95000 lbs of liquid in every load.
It is all fun and games until you try backing up, then it gets real interesting. I tell anybody that asks, if you can back up a farm tractor with a hay wagon behind, then you can back up a 'B' train. Instead of kicking the tires I carry a tire billy to check them, all 30 of them. The tandems/drive axles on the tractor and the trailer axles are all duals as opposed to super singles.

Pipe lines have no bearing on my job at all. The product I haul is made from tar, it is called High Float (how it is made is beyond my pay grade) and is sprayed on gravel roads, covered with gravel and rolled and packed. It is real dusty for about two weeks and after a good rain the dust is gone and you have a hard topped road that is way cheaper than a hot mix asphalt road. These roads will stand up to medium traffic including trucks as long as you don't try turning tight 'U' turns on it.
