Good morning
It’s 29 and going to 61, another day of clear skies and light wind.

Yesterday I got some time on the tractor, moving and spreading 50 tons of crushed stone. First time I’ve used the box scraper since I added the fit rite hydraulic top link. I’ve got to say it’s a great addition. This was for a neighbor’s lane to access his back acreage, it was never stoned and was a rutted, pot hole and puddle infested mess. First order was to scrape it level and then spread the stone. It actually came out pretty decent.

Tractor got pretty muddy, pressure washed it when I got home, noticed that the outside hydrant was leaking, so repacked that after putting away the pressure washer.

Next up was to clean out the fire box in the smoker and reload it with charcoal so it’s ready to go for a smoke this week. I’m thinking pork shoulders and ribs.

Not sure what I’ll get into this morning, I’m looking forward to guitarist friend coming over after lunch.

Tomorrow is my first shot.

My DB9 serial connection is made with a USB adapter, I don’t have any computers with a 9 pin connector any more.

good news about the vaccine Paul.
Have fun making music today.
Yesterday sounds like some quality seat time and you had the right tool for the job.
Nothing like playing in the mud. We never get too old for it.

That would be having to much fun Roy. ;)
Yeah...would be!!
I've been considering a hydraulic offset flail for quite a while. The township and state aren't real good at roadside (ditch bank) mowing. That is, they don't do it as frequently as it should be. The weeds grow high enough to impede vision when trying to turn on the Rt 12...not so bad witha pickup, but very bad witha small sedan.
The other reason is mowing the field, especially along the wood line. I'd hate to bust a window or cab door.

If you noticed in video, he's got ballast in the tires as well as wheel weights. My 4052 has turf tires (not as tall as R4's) and I don't think they have any provisions for adding weights

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 6:15AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 66F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Finished up the last of the wood that had already been bucked yesterday, and got less than half a pallet out of it. The little Sthil saw wouldn't run without some love, so it got a new air filter and a good scrubbing of the spark arrester screen. Had a dozen or so trees already down, and got those with the smaller trunks bucked, mostly using the forks on the tractor to move and support them for cutting. Today the big saw comes out to finish off the rest, and by then there should be enough wood to split to fill the rest of the first pallet and another one. There are only six plastic pallets left, and that'll pretty much fill up the container. Probably have to cut down some standing dead trees to do it, something I'm looking forward to.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start.

Mornin,
Uncle fell a few days ago and he broke his hip. Not good, but he is very positive.

Alien - hope the wifes eye issue works out ok.

I was canoeing on the Zambezi river many years ago. Won;t do that again. Hippos tried to take us out and guides took off, fast. I actually had blood on my hands from paddling so hard. o_O

Stay safe and be well

Good morning, low 41 high 59°F Wind S 9 mph. Sunny!

More snow gone, but still lots to go.

I've got a trip to a town north of me to shop for a C-can and some tractor parts.

Have a safe day all

49F and sunny @ 09:30, headed up to a high of 68F for the day.

Ten Day forecast has changed dramatically in less than 24 hours ... it's now showing highs in the 70's on Wednesday and Thursday but after that the highs drop into 40's and 50's. To be expected this time of year I suppose.

Pileated woodpecker drumming nearby, red-bellied woodpecker spotted on the suet feeder out back earlier.

Happy to report that earth-crossing Asteroid 2001 FO32 has missed as predicted ... so we've at least dodged that bullet.

Sheetcake action did occur, no commentary on that this morning, but it was put away in the oven so I know she saw it ... ;)

Roberto from Menards has already called and left a voicemail. He didn't leave any real info so I'll need to call him back to get the full story.

Will run over to a friend's later today to drop off some packing materials he can use in one of his businesses and pick up some freebie tires and rims he has for me off a golf cart he's rebuilding that he put oversize rims and tires on. Will take over some sheetcake for him and his wife.

Have a bunch of stuff in the loader bucket that needs to be run around back so I'll get that done. Probably see about getting the barn owl nest box finished up as that needs to be put up soon.

Other than that, probably more work in the garage cleaning up and organizing.

Hope Ted is making good progress on his rehab ... and hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Anyone want a trip back in time?
Led Zeppelin II was my very first album, earned going door-to-door selling newspaper subscriptions. The things they made us poor paperboys go through! Still have it, along with the CD version.

And I think my Davis WeatherLink goes into a 9-pin to USB converter.

No spring chickens in this house...
