Trip to town took a bit longer than expected. Good vet visit for Makani. Next up is his neutering in Jan.

Got to AT&T about 10 minutes early. They have someone meet you outside the door to check you in. Finally got in about 40 minutes later than my appointment time. No idea why. Only took about 10 minutes to get plan changed and questions answered. Hopefully a good thing except now I’m into AT&T for another $20/month. Will be interesting to see how the monthly credits work out.

After we got home got emails saying the new phones expected on Monday will actually arrive tomorrow.

Still had time to remove paint maskings and get some cleanup. Started cutting trim but quit when it started sprinkling enough to get everything wet.

36 outside this AM, heading to lower 60's. We got a LOT of rain the last few days. Lots of water rescues. Weather peoples big map shows 4.9 inches. Well my creek was over the banks and 1/4 the way up my back pasture...so yeah..it was a lot of rain. No damage to anything, and our new fence line seems to be just about right, it was about 30 feet outside of the water.

Will continue drying out the fish mobile today. From the looks of it, water did not go over the mirrors on the passenger side. I checked the oil, no water looks to be present. I will have to jump it though, battery is dead.

Hope to get back to the front porch, decking and supports is on order this weekend.

Sorry about Mr. Gopher, mostly. Hope you get him soon.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Good morning, we both woke with a start last night at the sound of heavy rain hitting the window. At least it was considerate enough to pass over by daybreak, nothing but clear blue sky now for the next couple of hours. Nice weather to take a chainsaw for a walk.

I am hesitating before saying this as I certainly don't wish to cause offence to those of you who are proud to fly a flag and illuminate it at night. Here is my thought for today....

However narrow the beam, if you point any light upwards, my guess is that a large proportion of the light will miss a flag and travel upwards into the night sky. Some of that light may go straight on into space and travel for millions of years before it hits anything, however most of it will be scattered and reflected back to earth. Most of it will not even come back down to your property, it will spread wide over miles. This light pollution may not be enough to turn the sky orange, as we see around cities, however it all adds up and makes a difference to those who enjoy looking into the night sky, making distant galaxies more difficult or impossible to see.

If you can make do without lights, or arrange all lighting so that it points down and not upwards, I am sure any astronomers in your area would appreciate it.
:whiteflag:

Good luck with the dry out Rip, if it starts you probably want to stand upwind for a while.

Poured first cup of coffee. 37° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 43° with some AM rain. After Dr appointment stopped at Menards for a new battery for whole house generator. Got that installed. Then put up new TV antenna and programed TV for the channels that I get. Cleaned lenses on all outside motion sensing camera's. Cleaned leaves out of gutters. Nice day to be outside. Take old battery to Menards for core money back. Then some grocery shopping today. Need to blow out water line to animal barn. No other plans for the day.
Why woodpecker is well fed.

Don, is that Lee County Asparagus.

Dftodd, :welcome: to Good Morning Thread!!! Nice pictures. Sorry about Jeep engine. Encore is a smaller version of my Chevy Captiva.

PJ, place is looking good.

LS, cabinet is looking good. Is it going to be for a TV?

David, which phones are you getting?

Eric, my spotlight overshoot light shines into wood to east of flag. About 50' beyond flag. Squirrels may like the night light in their 30' high nest.
