Good morning!!!!

Good evening all. 73F for the start, overcast, light wind. Moderate wind today variable direction, Sky became partly cloudy after trace of rain, high temp 96F. Fishing was slow, was fishing with future step son-in-law, found plenty of brush piles, not a lot of enthusiasm, most of what we caught were too small to keep 1 nice 13 in. crappie and 2 14 in channel cats. Need to get a good fillet knife, fish cleaning did not got well. :( Trolling motor quite near end of fishing session, trace problem to wire pulled out of connector in bow of boat. Also need at least 1 more anchor boat kept moving from wind shifts.

64F and clear @ 23:00, high hit 81F. Overnight low of 60F predicted, 10% chance of rain.

Just finished nailing and gluing up another panel on barn owl nest box.

More work on catch basin today, built up a berm that should prevent water from getting out onto the driveway. Located grass seed, still need to find spreader. Hopefully seed it tomorrow.

Raked up grass/weed cuttings, sticks, and leaves from west planting bed and hauled three bucket loads up to compost pile. Got a little more turning of old pile done and worked more grass in.

Pulled the one hydraulic fitting on the loader crossmember and stuck some Permatex No. 1 on it. Appears to have stopped the continual drip. Also added some ATP-205 to the hydraulic fluid to see if that might stop the drip on the shaft seal going to the front axle ... so I can hopefully avoid having to split the tractor to replace the seal. Still have a leak somewhere on the loader valve that I need to track down.

Working on next Menards order, added another 180 retaining wall block (basically all they had left in that color)

Going to go out here in a couple of minutes and see if I can fire up the Simplicity.

Hope everyone had a great day ...

good morning all
up early, went to bed early, need to work on staying up later, but early in the morning is a nice quiet time.
Looks like a cooler day today, 74 going up to 88 with thunderstorms this afternoon keeping the temps down.
I'm off early to an 8am appt at chemo clinic to get a shot for white blood cells, and retrieve my Kindle. Yeah.

Then off to another Walgreens to get meds the local one said their supplier was out of.

I had to have a brief and unlikely unpleasant chat with my next door/behind neighbors who are very loud outside their rv, and have a yapping
dog. Tuesday night they had a hurricane party with music outside, not too loud, lots of loud talking and intermittent yapping dog. I turned on the airconditioning fan
to run constantly to block out the noise, figure we all dodged a bullet with the storm and I didn't want to be a scrooge. But when they pulled in after dinner last night and the conversation came right in my bedroom, all of 15 feet away, I got up and politely asked them to keep the noise down, it was not letting me sleep. I got a prompt apology and noise stopped. I honestly believe they haven't had close neighbors where I was parked before and this wasn't an issue for them. I don't even know what they look like, middle age couple with big Harley under cover outside, it was dark out. Otherwise this campground is utterly quiet, no truck noise on quiet country road and I simply don't see anyone outside their rv's. When I get a chance/opportunity I will say hi to these folks and thank them again for understanding my needs to get to bed early. I think 9pm is a reasonable cut off time for noise outside, except on holiday weekends.

Because I'm now settled in for the duration until late September, I finally got a chance to make my bed properly using the nice sheets I have for it, strange rv queen sheets that are shorter than normal. Felt nice to get back to "normal". Every time I move the rv, because the end of the bed folds, the fitted sheets all pop off and it means redoing everything. Anyone who has done sheets on a boat or rv understands the challenges of crawling to the head of the bed and trying to get the corners tucked in well enough to not immediately pop off. I have two more storage boxes I need to get off the floor and stowed in the upper berth area up front, then the place will look less cluttered. It's really small in here and I have to use available storage carefully. Table with pc and 27 monitor kind of dominates living room/salon but I'm not entertaining so who cares. When I have it all organized I'll take some pictures. Really glad I kept the rv, paid it off to make sale easier, so it isn't costing me much, not with 450 a month campground rent.

My big issue with rv is registration. Mine expires Sept 20. NC wants 450 bucks to renew registration, most of which is property tax. Kind of doubt they will give me a prorate return on that if I leave NC the next month and redo registration in PA. So I may take my chances and drive it North with an expired registration. Even if I get a ticket it has to be less than 450 bucks...plus I will promptly register it in PA. I have Progressive as insurance carrier and they have a good policy for it.

time for some breakfast.
Mostly you do an amazing job keeping up with all these posts, you must take good notes.
Jay, we are all starting to worry about you again, but understand you really must have your hands full. Prayers and best wishes for you and Peg.

Drew, good negotiating with neighbors.
Any chance you can get RV registered in PA before it expires?

pretty sure I have to get it inspected first (??) which means I have to have it up there.
But worth a call to PA DMV to find out. Good idea, thanks

looks pretty clear I have to go to DMV and get a PA driver's license first, then get title transferred, etc etc

Good morning. It's 74° and 100% humidity this morning. Our high this afternoon should be 95°. No real rain chances near term .. maybe next weekend.

Uh .. my jacket comment yesterday .. was a failed attempt at humor.

I did get the snapped off post oak cut up and on burn pile yesterday morning.

Nothing left .. but a 10' high "stump" which I'll leave for now.

Other than a couple of dead trees to take out, that pasture is done for now.

I started on another pasture mowing with the new Holland and Bush Hog. This pasture has lots of trees and low branches to dodge with the cab. I'll need to take the LS out there to pick up a few more storm dropped tree branches and mow under some of the trees the N.H. couldn't clear.

Hope everyone has a safe and productive Friday.

Prayers to all.

Rick, great pics. Of all of us, I think a grapple is "indispensable" for you, you really have a lot of tree maintenance. Can't imagine doing
that without a grapple, or two...
that is one seriously heavy duty Bush Hog. Must make a great counterweight for your FEL. I kept my LP finish mower on the back, doubt it weighed half of what
yours does, and always was a little nervous in turns wondering where my clearances were, particularly in the woods.
You have very nice equipment and take good care of it, nice to see.
