Beautiful sunrise, Ron
78 going to 100 today. Dry but humid.
Sorry I missed your birthday, Kyle...can't beat your "cake" of cherry pie and ice cream.
RNG, I enjoy reading of your motorcycle trips and especially of your cool morning mountain temps.
Was 101.6F on our porch when I came in from a 4 mile hike yesterday afternoon. I don't put much stock in the heat index/"feels like" and other manufactured ways the news/weather people can sensationalize the weather, but no doubt it is less comfortable when the humidity is high and it sure has been lately. Thanks to Willis Carrier, credited with inventing modern air conditioning. I remember as a kid, not having air conditioning in the house or car, but loving to go to the movies in summer and freeze in the dark. Then on a trip to Canada, saw this huge factory near Buffalo and being told that's where they make air conditioners...Carrier Corp.
Been outside most of the time since 5am getting some things done before the heat picks up. Gave Coco a bath with special shampoo for her skin problem. She is doing better, but now refuses to eat almost everything. Her whole life she has happily eaten a salmon/sweet potato/pea/etc. kibble...no table scraps. This last month she has had everything I could think of to try to keep her eating and stop losing weight. I tried 14 foods this morning, finally gave her some beef jerky...she has never had beef...loved it, so I cooked her a hamburger. I think it is a couple of her meds causing her to be inappetent. Thanks for asking about her.
somewhat rattled from an email I just got.
Over five years ago here on TBN was a lady member from Texas who left TBN because she was being
stalked/bothered by someone here. Sad but true. I have kept in touch and hoped to see her on my rv trip out West where we were going
to go to a big Dallas dance hall together, to watch...
She was an avid pilot, has her own acrobatic plane and had been alone for many years. She met someone who clicked, also a pilot, spent the last two years together and
got serious. She and I had talked for years about why it was more important just to be happy by ourselves and not feel we could not be whole without someone else. But she finally found the right person.
Several months ago she was at the airport where her fiance was test piloting a new plane and it crashed right in front of her. She was first on the scene and her love
was dead. Simply hard to imagine how devastated she must be. So...am trying to be comforting, and be a friend who keeps in touch.
Hug your wives every day guys and cherish the love.
