Hey Randy, I stumbled on the answer to my own question from the weather reporting site to which I contribute.

NOAA's heat index calculator....it shows the heat index for 87F with 10%RH is 83F.

IOW: Evaporative cooling ...

Good morning to all! Low of a cool 52 after a brief t-storm passing by. High today going for 90. Increasing chances of t-storm the rest of the week.

Today is doggies day out! First Kassie to the groomer, while she is there, we will stop at Walmart. Then after she is done, then Max gets a haircut. It is amazing how they know... max has been looking at his harness/leash all morning....

Maybe after all the errands, I can get to finish putting the RC stuff into the hobby shack. It has all been sorted and put in clear bins. I have about 25 assorted cardboard boxes to cut up and take to recycle. Surprised to find a lot of useful parts and supplies, even 5 new brushless motors and controllers. I had been preparing to convert the planes when I put everything in storage about 10-12 years ago. I forgot about getting all the supplies. Looks like I will have minimal outlay of $ to get restarted.

Going to get started on the day's events.... everyone have a great day!

Can't argue with an old eastern Carolina boy, since that's in my DNA, too.

But I always wonder, what would be the heat index/feels like factor when it is 87F but the humidity is only 10 or 20%? Does it go down to 79? Of course, around here we don't have to worry about humidity so low this time of year, like maybe Ted does.

It does go down, not always noted though.

Looks like we are going to have a heat wave here in Pennsylvania. My wife dragged me out at 6:30 to walk and it was all ready warm. I am not looking forward to lawn mowing this week.

I watched the med lecture from University of California San Francisco about how the virus spreads and masks. It seems like ideas are evolving.

It's not exactly lite entertainment. If you are bored and want to get back in touch with your inner 10 year old here are some youtube channels that I like. You can waste a lot of time on youtube but what else have you got to do?

I like watching Chris dig dirt down in North Carolina.

I also like watching Matt drag people out on the ditch/sand/mud out in Utah.

Chris

I just found and watched letsdig18 yesterday. I find myself skipping forward to see progress though.

Evaporative cooling is a powerful cooling mechanism. We humans depend greatly on it. But when the humidity goes up, it doesn't work so well.

Count me in as a huge fan of Mr. Carrier.

Prayers for Jay and Peg, Sophie, Drew, Ron, Buppies, and others in need. Oh, and our country and Randy too!

79 this morning going up to 91. only one day below 90 in the last week or so.

Back to digging the pool lines yesterday, got the one that's leaking traced partially before I started to over heat.
Went to Point Pleasant in NJ Friday with the family, was pretty empty, cloudy , much cooler. Nice to get away for the day.
Took the weedwacker to the 600 or so feet on the road and cut back up the slope. 2 hours straight on Saturday, another hour around the pool and garden. Looks good.
Very dry here, could use some rain.

Kyle -Happy birthday

Need to pull out refrigerator to see why there is water coming out the front! Always something breaking!

Drew-good luck on the RV and your first drive in a while.

Stay safe and be well.

Hope coco starts eating.

Low humidity makes a huge difference. A few days ago we were in the 90s with low humidity and it felt ok, but high humidity makes you drag. We hit 101 yesterday.

Too humid to evaporate the condensation?

67°F and .20 inches rain.

Really should start flail mowing today- wx permitting.
Hoping to see more top soil delivery.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
