Done mowing for the day. Had to finish up with the Cratsman after belt came off scag and I didn’t want to mess with it.



Poor flail, abandoned by the fence, LS in observer position by the house.

Dennis, have to wonder how those nobby tires on your cart would be on a mower.

Good evening all. 73F, mostly clear sky, calm wind. Minor cloud build up, light wind, high temp 93F. watched chapel online this morning, puttered on computer, no nap . Wife decided we were not going to stepdaughter's house for dinner, So I took their share of dinner over to them.

RS I did not realize the lens on welding helmets used batteries now.

Them newfangled auto-darkening "solar" helmets apparently do. The button batteries in the newest helmets are designed to be easily user-replaceable (mine was not ... but it still can be done apparently )

The one in my Hobart helmet that just died was supposed to last 5 years. I'm guessing it probably lasted 2x that.

I see TSC has some Hobarts on sale ... might just go that route for now, since I need a new pair of work boots anyways.

BTW - heard ya on the calipers (re: quality) ... was scoping out the Starrets and Mitutoyo's ... would love to have a set ... :thumbsup:

... and HFT was still out last I checked ...

Don’t know why one looks blue in the picture
This bench around 20 yrs old. There are 12 4 ft slats. It used to sit in a flower garden under a elm tree till tree died. Then it sat out behind the barn awhile, then I put the ends inside. Had to dig to find them.
I will probably use oak. Will probably buy some precut strips.

They sell bar tires for ZTs. Mine are low profile and not much clearance to fenders. Will have to research it.
I need blades sharpened, but haven’t taken time to do that yet.
Today was much nicer, cooler than yesterday.
That cart is another project, get it running good then sell it. It just takes up barn space. I’ve been trying the berryman b12 spray on it, hasn’t helped yet.
Then I need to rebuilt husqvsrna transmission and then sell it.

Keep an eye on Craig's List. Just before i moved up here, a young man was selling his departed father's shop tools, and I picked up two paper grocery bags full of Mitutoyo height gauges, digital calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, depth gauges, inch pound torque wrenches, thermocouples and readouts, and stuff I never did figure out what it did. All for seventy-five bux. Everybody wants the new, wireless stuff these days, and they're almost giving away 1st gen digital and dial based measurement instruments.

Not the same crash, but both died in small plane crashes. Reeves was the pilot in his private plane which went down in heavy weather

Plans for today...Open area among spruces ground could use some leveling/smoothing,front loader rear blade just maybe ticket,because of the nice weather :cool2: all inside project going to town have been cancel.
