Good morning all, a calm, cloudy and dry day ahead, just about perfect for messing around outside.

I have spent a couple of evenings cutting up the invasive weed on the top ponds into strips about 6 yard wide by 12 yards long with my Mk 3 Crassula cutter. New technique is to plunge the grim reaper (an old scythe blade, let into a buoyant wooden shaft) down vertical to the bottom , then extend out away from my feet and bring up in an arc and wiggle the blade until the tip of the scythe makes it through to the surface. Pulling it back to me with a sawing motion then opens up a slit that I can shuffle into as I take a few steps forward and repeat (I'm telling you the details in case someone ever needs to explain to the coroner how I drowned :ashamed:).

I had kept about half the water clear, the rest has spread over a number of years, once more forming a dense mat that is 6-9 " thick. Last time I let it get so bad I said I would never do this again :confused3:

Yesterday after tea my wife volunteered to drive the Iseki while I waded out with chain and ropes to lasso a strip of weed which she then dragged out onto the bankside. We got it half done by nightfall, I need to give it a rest today as my fingers ache this morning from tugging on rope and anyway, I don't want to risk giving my wife too much lockdown fun all at once.

RNG, slow down, you are making it look too easy again. Next you will be running the backhoe and flying the drone at the same time.
Nice pic BEF
LS, hope you have a drier day today !
L4N, hope you enjoy your dry day too (you made me laugh with your drinking "unless I was alone or with someone").

51 right now...high in the low 70's...and maybe rain (hope not)…

Barbershop was closed, so no haircut. I did replace the Zero-turn tank vent. Removing the broken one was difficult, replacement vent was a fairly easy job. Although the lawn doesn't really need it, I might give it a fast trim today, as long as the rain holds off.
Probably see if my mower can use this seat suspension kit:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M64CDT...olid=3EKPXQK1J1CEK&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I'm having lower back pain and, although my Deere Z920 does a great job, it's a rough rider.
Any of you guys got suggestions or experience with this seat suspension?

I’m interested also. My kubota dealer talked me out of the suspension seat, they offered this type for around $300 and full suspension seat at around $700. He recommended the full seat if I felt I needed it.

Northern tool has K&m model exact same pics

Then there is rotary 12530 also with same pic.

My mower is 11” front to back, 11.25 side to side. That is slide bolts to the base. This goes between slide and seat, maybe they are different. Might take mine apart later to measure the actual seat.
Buyer on amazon said the rotary 12530 will fit my mower, exact fit. $200. This looks same, but I’m concerned about dimensions.

Thanks! But I'm not really looking to trade the 920... Has less then 500 hours and is fully paid for

RNG, at least the Utility truck may have given you a head start on clearing that path down to the lake.

My preference is that access on that abandoned road be blocked to anyone but me and the neighbors on the adjoining properties the road crosses or borders. I've found drug needles and campfire ashes along it, and where it terminates at the lake, neither of which are legal. But I'm afraid of retaliation if the road is closed; the northern neighbor did stretch a crude barbed wire gate across the entrance at the cul-de-sac, and it was soon unlatched and left laying on the ground.

Are you wearing any sort of life preserver during your search and destroy missions in the ponds, Eric? One with a CO2 cartridge with pull string trigger would let you submerge if needed, but still get you back to the surface in an emergency. If you drowned, who would tie up the weed mats for your wife? Not to mention depriving the rest of us of your dry English wit!

I think it was Ted that was asking for drone pics of the tractor, Eric, and what you're suggesting would seem to be the only way to make them. So...:confused:
