Well at least the ground dried out fast, if you had done that here you would have had to pump the water out of the pond you would have, then work in knee deep mud.

Lucky there was a good breeze, and the sun was baking. The humidity was at 7% today... stuff dries quick. It will fool you, dry on top, muck about 6” . We dug out about a foot below, then shoveled in a bunch of dry dirt.

I remember quite well when we lived back in Pennsylvania, having to run water pumps 12 hours a day to pump out our basement when we were building.... and that was from just the rain!

RNG, as far as I can tell, it was a 45 degree fitting that broke. When I caught the pipe, I got it a few feet away from the break. I forgot it sloped up towards the 90, catching it there. It pulled away from the 45 like it was not attached, so I assume it had broken there.

I think it was either stressed from settling of the dirt after initial install, or I did not get it glued right when I installed it. It has been pressurized for 8 months, so I am again assuming it was from settling.

Good evening all. Yesterday's pic was from Katy trail ride used to MKT railroad ran from Ft Riley KS to St Louis, (last 27 mile were actually UP track). Only 1 true tunnel on that stretch, I can post pics if you like. 66F for the start, showers in area, light wind. Wind cranked up quickly, drizzle and light rain on and off early in day, high temp was 85F. Bike ride early only 41 miles, one bike had shift issues and we headed back. We pass a horse farm on route, and saw very young colt trying to stand up. Did get nap in this afternoon. Stepson got tested for Covid the other day, should get results Monday, coworker tested positive for it recently.
Covid counts, Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson, up 4 to 38.

Not the busy, productive day of some of you, but I’m happy.
Rototilled a strip along fence in front of cottage, 4 passes. Main purpose is to plant eggplant, have 2 long varieties from UH seed lab. My hope is they are like the plants I had when I lived on Oahu, basically a perennial bush that was very productive. Will put in 5 or 6 and need to determine 1 or 2 companion plantings, maybe something that will like the fence.

Spent some time planting seeds in starter. A first for me as I have always direct sowed in past. I’m hoping I get good starts to transplant.

I see mowing in my near future, but not today.

Time to enjoy a cold 1 or 2, fresh from the tap.

Outside too much yesterday. Up early with lots of sinus congestion.

Glad I finished the mowing, I hear rain outside.

I did pick up Chinese food last night. Really good, and a change of pace. Went for a little drive with my wife first. Stone bridge over the river.

And a covered bridge. This area flooded Thursday from the rain.

57 going to 82, probably showers and T-storms.

Ted, you win, for the worst day. Glad you had the skills and equipment to get the job done. My pipe from the well to the house cracked 2 years ago and I discovered it by noticing a soggy place in the yard when there had been no rain.

RNG, at least the Utility truck may have given you a head start on clearing that path down to the lake.

Dis some lopping, pruning, mowing and general clean up yesterday.

51 right now...high in the low 70's...and maybe rain (hope not)…

Barbershop was closed, so no haircut. I did replace the Zero-turn tank vent. Removing the broken one was difficult, replacement vent was a fairly easy job. Although the lawn doesn't really need it, I might give it a fast trim today, as long as the rain holds off.
Probably see if my mower can use this seat suspension kit:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M64CDT...olid=3EKPXQK1J1CEK&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I'm having lower back pain and, although my Deere Z920 does a great job, it's a rough rider.
Any of you guys got suggestions or experience with this seat suspension?
