Good morning!!!!

65 now and sunny, headed to 66 they say.
My arm looks good this morning, put a regular large wound bandage on it, the pressure sure did a good job on it.

Mostly- yes I’m on two blood thinners, one for my stent, the other for the Afib, just recently doc switched me from aspirin to Eliquiss (sp), along with Plavix.

Got a big old rabbit showing up in the backyard the last few days, if he’s lucky the foxes and hawks won’t make dinner of him. I usually have several rabbits in the spring and none by fall, they’re on the wrong end of the food chain. It’s funny though, I’ve never had more than a couple of squirrels, some years I won’t see any. With oak and pines, I don’t understand it. Where I use to live I had twenty pines across the back and probably 40-50 squirrels at any one time. There are a lot of hawks, owls and several eagles around, so that might explain it.

Not much on the agenda today, pick up food for the furry ones, I’ll see what I get into. Have a good day, be safe and healthy.

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 6:00AM. Sunny. High 83F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like a perfect recipe for weather, to me at least.

Good to hear from you again, Eric, and glad that you haven't lost your sense of humor!

Bit of a rough day yesterday here, started off catching my foot in a computer cable and going down like a pile of bricks. Part of me landed on a carpet, so just a bruise and some sore muscles to show for the effort. Finally got through to the Oregon Kubota salesman, though, and he's working on a parts quote for tractor goodies.

Dug maybe another ten feet of trench, coming up to the top of the parking pad next to the garage, so at least now the tractor is well away from the edge. The conduit hasn't turned up at all, and is headed straight for the driveway. My hope now is it'll turn toward the outside wall of the garage when it reaches the concrete; if not, a new trench will.

The stabilizers on the backhoe have little steps for climbing up to and down from the chair, but they're small and awkwardly placed. Yesterday I stumbled when remounting, lost my balance, and fell on one of the backhoe controls. The tractor was running at the time, so the boom swung to the right, forcing the tractor to skid on the stabilizers about a foot to the left. Took me that long to push myself back up and stop the action, and it could have been a lot worse. New rule: turn the engine off before getting off the tractor. Turns out that's the new SOP for these tractors anyway, to save buildup in the Diesel Particulate Filter. In the six hours of running since it arrived, the DPF percentage has gone from 20% to 50%. So it looks like the first regeneration will happen in another ten hours or so. Should be interesting. At least there's no urea injection used on this model.

Kind of a long one; I'm a very slow operator, looks like a drunken sailor is at the controls.:confused2: Very happy with the backhoe on this thing!

A little after midnight the power went off again here; I was awakened by all the beeping from the office, where some of the computer equipment is on a UPS. I got up to shut down the media server, that really doesn't like to lose power. No telling how long it would last, but it was good to see that the satellite internet remained running, and of course the two laptops in there were OK as well. Shut a bunch of stuff off and tried to get back to sleep, but half an hour later power was restored, which led to another round of beeping while things came back on.

More digging this morning, then a grocery run this afternoon. If I'm lucky, maybe I can pick up the old tractor while I'm in town, otherwise I'll try to get the truck smogged.

Those 2" New York steaks I bought last week were only $7.50/pound, but there was a bone in 'em that didn't show in the display case. Just goes to show you get what you pay for.

TGIF gang!:drink:

45F and totally overcast and gray ... with a "pollen alert" issued ...

High predicted to be 56F for the day ... so probably another "mostly inside" day ... :(

Cleaning that 4th birdhouse is sure moving up on the list ...

Looking on the bright side though, they are calling for partly sunny and a high of 68F for tomorrow.

Have a safe day ...

Glad you are safe.

Had similar happen to me a couple years back while attempting to dismount ... only the boom swung towards the side I was on.

Very scary ... since I could have been pinched/crushed. Scared the living bejeebers out of me.

No real easy way to shut off the tractor on mine due to reach (key is too far away) ... but since the BH is driven off a PTO pump it is easy enough to flip the lever to disengage the rear PTO ...

61° according to WU

Wind has done a 180° shift
Lots of flooding from yesterdays rain.

Work video chat this morning. Got some more remote work I can do. Wednesday was 4 yrs for me at this company. 13 yrs for previous, and 20 yrs for one before that. Many changes over that time, even over last 4 years.

Friends brother in Springfield Massachusetts area just diagnosed with lymphoma and tested positive for cv19. Double whammy. My friend has relative works at holyoak, think jay mentioned it.

Top pop, hope cut heals well. There are discount programs for Eliquis. $10 month instead of $700.

Good to see Eric is back, and didn’t become his wife’s pin cushion.

started at 50 today going to 63. Rained an inch last night, hard enough to knock the hose off my down spout. That never happened before.
Just got done with another downpour, this time with the sun shining ....

RNG - be careful- BH is much stronger than any of us
Randy - I am on anti-coagulants - I bleed for no apparent reason sometimes, be careful , may need to wear body armor
BEF - Cipro- hope you can get off it soon so you feel better

Stay Safe all and be well- back to the day job

67°F and .22 inches rain

Sears tech coming this morning to replace the freezer fan. Supposed to be here before noon, but who knows. Likely just piddle around close until then.

Completed soil tests yesterday, no big surprises. Acidic and pretty much depleted. Guess we’ll just have to see what lime and fertilizer does.

Got a good start on my salt water moat isolated gutter and hydroponic area.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

46°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 78° today.

Stopped at Rural King in Highland on the way home from work yesterday and picked up a couple of new No-Spill gas cans for the mowers. If these work even slightly better that the old ones, I'll go back and get a couple for diesel for the tractor, too.

No-Spill gasoline cans.JPG

Sure wish we could just get regular cans again. I hate these contraptions.

Nice job on your siding, mostly_. We need to do that on our north side, too.

I actually chuckled out loud over your "BC times," Eric.

Glad you didn't squish yourself, RNG. That would be less good.
