.....

Continue to get in my steps as much as possible averaging close to 10K a day. Checking the mailbox up at the road adds 1000 steps and they seem to deliver later and later so often do 2 or more runs to get the mail. Often it as after it is dark before delivered and if that is the case I take the Kubota RTV to use the overhead lights to illuminate the mail box across the street. Lot os crazy drivers out there

My neighbor up the road was hit and killed about a year ago getting his mail.

It appeared two cars actually hit him. Both left the scene. One was later identified by another neighbor after some time. The other remains at large.

Good morning! 31˚F heading to the upper 60s with sunny skies and wind shifting South.

Completed long trip to Texas Medical Center in Houston to visit BIL's Family at the hospital. I didn't want to deal with the construction on I10 so I took hwy 90 in. BIL is hanging in there after three surgeries in 3 days. Still two or three more to go. He had a hard time waking from the last surgery and there was a scare that he might have had a stroke. But with more wake up drugs and the encouragement from his stepdaughter he woke up and moved his fingers and toes.

On Sunday he hit the 18wheeler's trailer on the front edge as the truck made an unyielding turn right in front of him no time for him to even apply his brakes. His face took the brunt of the force. The truck driver got a ticket.

Kyle if you could see him you would sell your motorcycle. You can control only your actions not the other drivers. His son is still having a hard time after witnessing the accident. He thought. his Father was dead not moving.

Good morning TBN!!
34 this morning. Calmish and sunny going to 48.

Spent yesterday mostly trying to reset my sons Macbook Air to make it my own. I have such a hard time with Apples OS. I have every password that he had and got in to whatever I needed but apparently I am missing one. Now I have to wait a day or two to try again. I will get it if I don't break it first. :)
Wife's cookie party cancelled due to a serious turn in a members cancer diagnosis. Pretty much everybody coming was from the same family.
Not sure what is on todays agenda. Probably cleaning some more legarms since all the stuff is still out.

Time for a second cup
Everybody have a great and safe day!!

Up at 1 again. Windy out.
We have achieved anti-phase! Over the last year, my bed time has been drifting later and later. 1:45am last night, which is getting pretty common. You were up today, before I went to bed, last night! 😲

Alarm still goes off at 6am every morning, and I'm usually up before it goes off. But going to bed so late means I usually need to catch a quick cat-nap after lunch to re-balance.

22F and cloudy @ 08:00, calling for a high of 28F for the day. Low was 21.8F.

Back to the lower-than-normal temps for a few days, calling for a single digit low on Saturday morning. But supposedly a high of 48F by next Thursday.

Got snow overnight, could hear winds howling last evening ... calling for more today, ground is now fully snow covered again.

Did not get Kubota moved to the barn, did get the seat turned over though ... so at least it won't be snow/ice covered ... lol ...

Marathon session Tuesday ---> Wednesday down in the utility/storage room ... 36+ hours. Fell asleep on the couch last night just as Nova was starting, woke up later and headed straight to the sack.

Got low-voltage wires to the outside AC unit reconnected before I forgot where they went.

Good amount of washing and cleaning things off in the stationary tubs.

Got over to the north end, cleared off another 3' section of steel shelves so they can be moved off the wall to put up foam board insulation on the north wall.

Chiseled and cleaned off some dried up oil-based paint that had leaked and dried on the floor.

Spent a fair amount of time sorting through various parts and supplies (electrical, hvac, plumbing, etc.) and getting them collected up from random places and put together.

Unburied more insulation, drywall, cement board, and plywood out in the family room so it was easy to get to them.

Likely more of the same today ... but first a second cup.

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ... (y)

Local weatherman just said that every day in December so far has been below average temps, and it's the 5th coldest start to December on record. That's why my firewood is disappearing so fast. Time to sharpen the saw.
Weatherman on the news this am stated long range forecast shows 70° for Christmas Eve here. Ridiculous.

32 deg at 8:43. Wind sure did howl last night.
The UK is screwed, you would have thought they learned that lesson back in 1776. When the takers exceed the givers, you can't keep taking from the givers to give to the takers. Awful what is happening to the farmers.

Don, prayers for BIL. When i was in the rehab center, motorcycle accidents were the worse injuries there. The gangster thugs shot up were in much better shape.

Arm is hurting more after yesterdays workout, but was still able to sleep ok. Slept about 4 hours, then awake for about 3 hrs, then a little more sleep. today will be yet another Eagles day... Take it Easy.

Morning all, 30 and going all the way up to 35, cloudy, rain has ended.
Didn't get much done yesterday except day job.

We show some snow on the way, maybe an inch or so, who knows.

Not sure when I will get to do the full replacement for the blower resistor, but it needs to be soon, day job too busy.
Have a locksmith coming to make me a backup key for the jeep to replace the lost one, he charges $160, which seems ok, Dealer would probably need a loan first

Be well,

but good for some clicks
whole industry is based on possibles and maybes
you can say anything really.
plus how many times have you heard
like the weather? wait a minute and it will change...

really easy morning getting through torso CT scan.
now I wait til they post the report online. Not seeing doc until Dec 23.
ho ho ho
but I'll have results before then I'm sure.

very windy out
now that leaves are off
the woods makes a different whooshing rushing noise.
and the downspout occasionally squeaks.

think I might take car out later and get it washed.
choice of Newtown or Flemington
will probably go to NJ and get some "cheap" gas on the main
road in Flemington. I want to see how much less they charge than my
old standby in Lambertville. I'm guessing a dime a gallon cheaper.
burn more than that driving longer distance but while I'm there going to check it out.

NJ remains the only state where you cannot pump your own gas.
I told my friend the owner of the gas station in Lambertville best thing that
could ever happen to him with his chronic staffing challenges is to go self service.

My wife, son and I had an argument. Asking opinions. One side says for the cough/crud/sore throat that the mucinex pills are better, and the other side says Tussin-CF or DM cough syrup/ Dayquil are better. Which do you guys prefer?

I can only provide advise on cough suppression, Delsym is going to be your best choice.

The particles of dextromethorphan (DM) in Delsym are of a unique and smaller size than most other competitor's suspensions cough syrups making the DM more effective.

Because DM does not go into solution, its suspended in a fluid, the fluid requires agitation for equal dispersion, otherwise it sits on the bottom of the container. You definitely want to shake the bottle before dosing.

Studies have proven that men over 50 who have a power nap during the day are 50% less likely to have a heart attack.

I've been up for 23 minutes since my power nap, which was 4 hours long.

Not plowing today, not enough snow to make it worth the fuel I will burn.

lot of driving but got the car washed and my tank filled.
neither where I thought...could not figure out how to use kiosk in NJ car wash, plus too far for
my arm to reach. Glad I said forget it, drove all the way back to Newtown PA where the carwash there is
awesome. They got my front windshield spotless. And the sap spots are still there.

3.89 for premium in NJ, 4.29 in PA. Worth going over the bridge.
very windy, felt the car get blown a little going by big farm fields.
no plans for today, happy to conserve energy. Need to keep drinking fluids, flush that
barium out of me. I did see where the real radiation worry is the PET scan, because that's the one where they put
the radioactive stuff in you. But if you have cancer, it's the best test apparently.

now I have to wait a month, and then I'm scheduling a DEXA scan.
am pretty linear here, need to get over one hurdle first.

I spent 2 1/2 hours cleaning up on our 3-4 inch, still have some putterey areas to get. Takes almost the same time for me with most storms, not much different if it's 2 inches or 8 inches.

I guess I'm going to have to break down and get ready for snow season. Saturday I will put rear blade on and coat with non stick; back the tractor in the shop and plug it in.

Hopefully that will stabilize the weather.

disappointed to be told by good local foreign car repair shop they could not work
on my lexus due to dealer only specialized tools. I thought due to right to repair law they had to offer
the tools to be purchased. They also have some specialized software, sounds like John Deere and big tractors.
I wrote back and asked the guy for specifics.

rapidly growing number of youtube videos out there showing packages blowing up on porch pirates.
it may make for fun viewing and clicks but it's both dangerous and illegal.
plus setting a boobytrap is definitely a violation of your homeowners liability insurance and they won't defend or pay.
An intentional act of harm is not covered, which is common sense. Umbrella policy won't pay either.
Going to need a lot of youtube clicks to pay for your defense lawyer.

you can't fight a basic misdemeanor theft with a felony injuring...
personally I think a good taser shot for thieves would be good
