Would love to know more about evapo rust if you have time

Wish I had better news, Buppies, but the only thing Evapo-Rust evaporated was my faith in its ability to remove rust. The tank was bone dry and I could see the rust on the bottom of it, so as mentioned, I plugged up the fuel line and filled it with Evapo-Rust. I let it sit overnight, about 18 hours all together, then poured it out. Looking inside again, the only difference in the rust was that it was wet. Went after it with a wire brush, which knocked the loose flakes off, but left a lot of corrosion behind. Sorry I wasted my time with this stuff; I'd have been much better off using my old standby Naval Jelly.

I was lucky with this storm. It never changed over to a mixed precipitation to rain event here and I got ~ 2 hours of seat time. I have the driveway down to a nice ice glaze My driveway is not a pretty picture at the moment :embarrassed:

I actually thought about giving you another hint this morning.... glad I didn’t.

I have installed a few garage doors and, yes, they are pretty easy. I wanted to do it, but the son wanted a warranty. He did a full package deal with a five year warranty on the install, lifetime on the rollers / hardware, and a 10 year warranty on the opener.

The guys at Home Depot were telling us that the 16 ft doors have always come in damaged .... he didn’t want that hassle if we opened a box and found damaged panels. This way it is on someone else if there is any damage.

The overall price was about $500 more, but once you figure in our time to pick it up, install, deal with any problems etc... , then all the extended warranties, he figured it was worth it. It was hard to argue those points.

When I did my barn with two 10x10s and a 10x8, I paid the HD crew to install them. I used clopay insulated doors, just in case I ever insulated the barn.

I installed 6 10x8s a few yrs ago myself, and installed my garage 9x8s

Great visit with Irv and his wife. Irv and I worked at various auto plants in Detroit area. Both of us had lots of stories and pictures to share. We met at 10 am. When we left restaurant it was after 12pm. We are going to do it again.
Found out they like to drive around looking at old Michigan Barns like I do. Invited them to join a group that post pictures of them.

Least the wind wasn't howling clumps snow wasn't falling from trees during your seat time. :thumbsup:

Caught 3 mice last night. Can't believe how many have moved in this year. I guess a half a bag of corn might be the cause. :duh:

It doesn't take much for those little buggers to move in also found that out,I keep all my feed in BIG job box and BIG metal garbage with metal lid and make sure our little help fed will.
