L4N Andy Williams was one of my father’s favorites so I know it well. Frank Sinatra as well he had all of his albums. My mother and father were both excellent dancers

went out and walked the beach at sunup, not much of a pic due to haze and local clouds. Pretty out and the surf was booming. Making a bunch of noise actually and back at the rv it is the world's nicest sound.

one of my shopping stops today will be at rv campground store, which is likely pretty large, and see if they have a rear tire cover without their name on it. My new one blew off on way down, guess I didn't cinch it tight enough at bottom. Next one I will cinch and tie. Hope my old one didn't land on anyone.

Good Morning from Central Texas.
Another day TOO warm and TOO dry. If anyone has excess rainfall, please send it here. The pastures look like mid August.
The USAF has awarded a contract for the next generation (NGP) of Massive Ordinance Penetrator (MOAB bomb) to replace the GBU-57 used against Iran in operation Midnight Hammer. Public specifications are unknown, however greater accuracy, lighter, interface to additional air platforms and possibly a rocket motor for additional penetration are rumored.
The current MOAB (30,000 lbs) and the B-2 Spirit (can carry 2):

Good morning TBN. A brisk 45 here this am and a high of 55 is predicted today. Serious frost warnings have been issued in the higher country, like our camp. Dearest is working a 1/2 day today, so this afternoon we will be heading up there to clear the road in some and drop a tank of propane off there. The previous onwer is coming back this weekend with his son and another fellow to do one last hooray, then load some items (Junk really) to take home. We'll be there Saturday to ask a 1000 questions. This will also be posted in the "camp found and setup" thread. Hope everyone has a nice Tuesday!
NOAA says its 32 at camp near Covington MI now.

Good morning
63°, high in the upper 70’s and another sunny day.

Yesterday, I did make it to the RC club and got a flight or two in, hung out with the (other) old guys before heading home and getting ready for my trip. I forgot and left the water running watering the arborvitae that I planted in the spring, called the DIL on my way to the airport to go up and turn it off.

Trip to Boca was interesting, lots of weather in south FL.
Here’s an interesting view of the rain shafts under a thunderstorm between cloud layers.

Now I’m off to have breakfast with the professor, I would like to mow a bit this afternoon, even if it’s just with the Lazer around the house. Also need to take a look at a friends AC that isn’t cooling.

65F with steady rain @ 08:15, calling for a high of around 68F for the day. Low this morning was 64F.

Looks like we have gotten around 0.50” so far and the rain is expected to continue all day.

Got all post holes covered as the first order of business yesterday.

Refilled Water Buffalo while I was doing that.

Once those were done I started mowing the front.

Got that all done as well, Woman noticed and commented it looked good …

Should look even better in about a week when it greens up further.

Did figure out where the other string line was (out in the garden where I last used it … lol)

Hauled garbage up to the can at the road and set it out.

Woman fixed chorizo and Spanish rice for dinner, along with corn on the cob which was pretty tasty. Finished off the Cheddar Bay biscuits She made the other day as well.

After dinner I mowed my face and grabbed a shower before hitting the rack.

With the exception of running down to Menards to pick up that order, today will be an inside day.

Garage needs further clean up.

And if I can ever find a wrench handle to sacrifice, I’ll weld up a fence staple starter tool.

Beyond that have a couple of bills to pay, otherwise just see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday …

62 outside right now, heading to lower 80's. Lots going on, sort of on overload with real job and house stuff.

With the hot tub project the wife did not like the look of the barn. So we are in the process of painting it. Talk about scope creep.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.20251005_182002.jpg

One of our many stops while traveling with our motorhome. Was the Andy Williams Moon River Theater Branson, Missouri. Must have been around 2007. Great show. He must have been in his late 70’s then. Petula Clark was in the show also. We stopped in Branson several times over the years.

Morning all, 59 going to 82 and cloudy, calling for rain later and we need it.
Did a lot of watering yesterday, trees are dropping leaves with little color.

Drew - sounds like a great spot and a gazebo?: This place is absolutely packed with rvs, very tight sites, except for mine. All the way at the end, I have a double site, with a lawn, gazebo, etc. Billie, if you ever get down here, ask for site 14.

Today if we get time , dog needs a bath and I need to move splitter so it can go vertical and split some bigger rounds.

Be well,

68°F and no rain.

Got my new mower mostly assembled
IMG_1073.jpg

Need to torque down the bolts and grease. Had to pick up a couple tubes yesterday. Then button up with the covers. This this is quite rugged and well built. But it has to wait

Today and tomorrow promised to my friend John to erect his steel Quonset building. This will be his tractor barn. Hoping it goes smoothly and we get it up today, but his old fart erection crew has no experience but we do have a plan. Interestingly, the vendor has supplies several set of instructions. My take is - apparently whatever works they pass on.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Had to move this thread to the front porch due to it getting flagged by our advertising networks for "inappropriate content" including firearms. So rather than try to censor words site-wide, we are moving any threads that get flagged, to the front porch.

I absolutely hate that advertisers will flock to news sites that talk about guns and shootings all day long but when people are talking about using rifles for hunting or in day to day life in the country, it gets flagged as "unsafe" and the networks want us to remove the ads from the pages. But that's the way it is for now.

Back in them days I had a choice, listen to what my parents were listening to or not. I did grow to like Glenn Miller.
The 'rents could cut a mean rug in their '30s through '50s.

I wonder if someone did not like the looks of Spike's ordnance pictures.
I'm puzzled, very little talk of guns here except what you own.
sad when a deer rifle can't be talked about, but we all know what context this is in, and the site should not lose its advertisers. Assuming the request is reasonable...
I'm equally puzzled as to how the front porch is different but if I click on the link and I wind up with you guys again, guess it all worked.

I had lunch with my friends in the marvelous small Southern city of Conway SC. What a great town, calling itself the Halloween Capital and the entire city was decorated. Hundreds of trees each decorated with at least fifty one foot plastic pumpkins. You enter the town and just see an incredible number of orange pumpkins everywhere, plus there are fake spider webs everywhere, must be the world's largest concentration of fake skeletons, cars filled with skeleton bodies, skeletons up on the water tower, way up there... So many tall trees with pumpkins all the way up.
just amazing, what a hoot.
we went past their parks dept and a huge pile of extra skeletons there.
truly a boneyard... ;)

time for hot shower and a nap. Done for the day.
hope to walk down to beach later and put feet in the water, says its 77 here

That is just plain ridiculous.
Maybe time for a better advertising network, one that doesn't shove garbage out as ads.
