RNG; how about two leaves of iceberg lettuce with tofu as the filler? personally, I would just go with the lettuce.:licking:

65°F and no rain.

Have to make a quick trip into town this morning for a few things. Also got a call from Walmart that we are due our 2nd pneumonia shot. Something of a surprise .

Spent some time on the carport kit perusing different pieces. Think I have a good handle on proposed modification. Will be picking up a few things at HD for that. Would like to get the base in this week. Taking a non hurried approach.

Good time at friends yesterday. Didn’t realize it had been 6 years since their last visit. Saw other old friends and met a new couple visiting for 1st time from Sacramento. Plenty great food per usual.

Hand and Foot this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I don't know why tofu has such a bad reputation, Bill. It pretty much has no taste at all, so you can flavor it with any number of spices and yummy things. However, I'd like to avoid having to cook a meal at lunch time; just wanna pull stuff out of the 'fridge and serve it on a plate...

Bread seems to be off the list, so I'm wondering: what's a plant based substitute for the all mighty lunch sandwich?

Good news. Bread is not off the list. You just must choose carefully. The easy way is to go to the frozen food section and find Ezekiel 4:9 breads. They are made from sprouted 100% Whole grains. Otherwise find a whole grain bread that has no milk or eggs or oils added. This is a little harder to do. Engine 2 also makes a whole grain (no oil, dairy, eggs) pizza crust which we use for our pizzas.

Had an interesting e-mail from Nutritional Data this morning about the size matters on the subject of eggs. Since I have seen a lot of people add eggs to their diet I think this will be new, interesting information to many.

Drew, sorry to hear about your neighbor. How old was your neighbor and did he have a cardiologist? 50% of the time the first symptom of heart disease is a heart attack of which only half survive.

I don't like tofu also. Even after going through all the trouble to make it taste flavorful it still has a weird texture. Jackfruit is much better to work with to acquire a savory taste that has texture.

Good afternoon - temps in the 60s heading to the 70s, Clear blue skies.

I was washing my Ranger yesterday and the lights kept going on and off. I finally figured I had the keyless key-fob in my pocket and the touch sensitive door handled thought the water was my hand. Once I put the fob inside the house the problem was solved.

Morning everyone...I don’t eat much bread but while we’re on the subject this is what I use. A loaf typically lasts me a couple of months.

Avocado and egg on toast for my mid morning/post workout snack today.

Enjoy your day everyone !

If there's EVER a tofu shortage ... nobody will lay the blame at my feet.

That is good news, Don. I don't buy any frozen food, and had no idea that bread could be found there. Is it bake it yourself?. I'll have a look.

I've had cholesterol issues for a very long time, and long ago took eggs out of my diet. But it's disappointing to learn that one must now vet the sources of even nutritional information. Is nothing sacred?

Glad you figgered out that Ford maybe didn't have a better idea. Ah, the joys of modern technology.

I just saw that Kobe Bryant was killed in a chopper crash today, 41 years old.
Wasn’t a big fan, but still a bit of a shock.

I did not get the rain predicted, nor the mixed precipitation. The temperature has really bounced around between 33ºF - 36ºF most of the day basically dependent on the cloud cover/sunshine with occasional periods of drizzle and/or light snow. What rain I did receive with this weather system really packed down and water-log the existing snow/icepack. At least my driveway is clearing of its icepack.

Drew- It reads like you have a lot of choices to make. I hope that you take it slow and everything falls into place. Your first priority is your health. Take care.

Bill- Congratulations on your dieting. I wish I could post similar results. My daily calorie count in and calories expended is embarrassing.

Randy- I just saw the news as well. I was not a fan, but his death did surprise me. May her RIP as well as the other victims. My + thoughts, wishes and prayers for their families and friends (and fans).

I really like oven baked and/or air fried tofu. Tofu sucks up whatever marinade that it sits in. Actually I made it last night to accompany the rice and wokked vegetables. Instead of making stir-fried rice I made a spicy sauce and saved myself some calories; still a "little heavy" on the salt.

Skunks and raccoons are a rarity around here nowadays; thanks to mange, rabies, and distemper.

I hope that everyone had/is having a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

RNG, I almost forgot, my wife makes cornbread and just substitutes. ground flax seed for eggs, applesauce for oil, and non-dairy milk or water instead of cow's milk. It comes out just fine.

Rick, I can't see the ingredients.

Rick, here are the ingredients in Ezekiel 4:9 Cinnamon Raisin bread.IMG_3505.JPGIMG_3504.JPG
