I'll make that loop one day. Were you camping or hotelin? Wish I'd have known you could have checked out a tractor in ND for me, lol.
Hotels. I wouldn't pull a camper that far, and it would have cost more to do so. Knocked 2 states off my list, only 4 to go to have visited all 50. Originally we were going to the west coast and take 3 weeks, but will leave that for another trip. Was within a few miles of Montana and Wyoming, but we've been there before. Did hit Teddy Roosevelt NP in ND, then down thru Badlands in SD.

We've been to the teddy R parks many times. Have friends just north of there. So you weren't out to look at a tractor? This photo was taken while doing the Maah Daah Hey

Started our trip with a visit to Dad, he was doing better than the last time I was there, so that was the deciding factor to head west. My next older brother and his wife met us for supper the first night. The next day we went up to SugarCreek Ohio, to the Age of Steam Roundhouse. A private collection of steam locomotives. 18 Bays full of old steam, and the capability to rebuild. They currently have 1 certified, and another will be soon.

SugerCreek is also the home of the worlds largest Coo Coo clock, that plays every half hour.

while waiting for it to play, we went around the corner to a hot dog / ice cream stand that was good. Right across the street, I discovered the GeoThermal supply house where I bought my geothermal loop pumps.
Supper that night was at the Der Dutchman restaurant, place we ate at a lot growing up..

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 2.8C and it's presently 17.7C, clear with a wee breeze.

A successful 'into town' excursion yesterday and, according to my local hardware store "Mitre 10", if I spend just A$48 more I will achieve GOLD STATUS. What that will entail remains to be seen but it surely can't match the accolades and privileges received when I reached Super Star Member here on TBN!

I did get the woodheater flue whacked/cleaned and re-built the fire in it.

Nothing planned for today. That's about it, take care all.

Mostly, some of the engines are capable of being fired up. They had pulled one outside and was washing it.
One in repair shop was almost ready for use, was being recertified.
Tour was 2 hrs long. The turn table originally from Hagerstown MD, near me.
All built and paid for by a millionaire train lover. Awesome facility.
One under repair

Good Morning,
Ct, 60 to start going to 78. Looks like we have some of Ron’s weather along with Arly’s weather. Unusually warm for this time of year.

Work today, and up a bit too early. Slept solid for 5 hours but a couple more would have been nice 😉

Dennis, the tour cat looks like a keeper 😉

Kathleen convinced me to keep the pool open till next week, so we could both use the hot tub a couple more times 😃 It gets closed next week no matter what 😉

Still cramming for my Amateur Extra exam on Saturday morning. Doing pretty well on the practice exams. 🙏 Not next week but the following week we head back to Vt, I still need to replace the gas valve in the kitchen heating stove and cut up all the old decking and bring it out to the burn pile behind the barn. Will try and not send any boards out there with nails or screws, because I bush hog that area in the field 😉

Hope all have a blessed day 🙏

good morning all
warmer 63 going up to 85 today in nice weather
I'm off early to hospital to get a CT scan of my hip, hopefully the machine
will not feel too claustrophobic.
slept very poorly, up almost every hour hearing the clock chime
had nice dinner last night but it got very loud in there due to a private party, and it took
almost an hour for dinner to come out. Apps were good, had a spinach and beet salad that was great.

Scott, good luck on the ham exam.

No Morse code component, anymore?

I took an evening course with my father back in the mid-1980's, preparing for the Amateur exam. He was big into ham when he was younger, and was hoping I'd also get into it, but I just never had the same interest. I remember taking exams, although they may have been just practice exams, if I ever received an actual license I didn't keep it. I remember practicing Morse code being a very big part of the course and exam, practicing it until we were damn near conversational, over the course of several months.

For some reason, the license rank of "Novice" stuck in my head, not "Amateur". I think the license numbers even started or ended with "N" to denote Novice. I wonder if that has changed?

Good morning TBN!!
Pleasant 57 this morning. Should make the mid 80s with wall to wall sunshine. We have had .14" of rain for the month. Nothing in the last 12 days. No rain in the forecast either. Sure could use some.

Another day of rearranging the shop. Got a larger workbench moved to it's new home and I like it there. Much more useable. And will have shelves above it. Mostly for electric work.
Plan today is more of the same. I look around and it's in worse shape then when I started. Oh well I know when it's finished it will be much more functional overall!

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

64 going to 82. Rain ended, still some fog.

Thomas, great story about your bears.

BEF, sounds like a wonderful trip. Sugarcreek sounds like a neat town.

Scotty, I'm sure you'll ace that exam.

Drizzled or rained all day, so got some paperwork done, and some walking around outside, nice to do in the rain occasionally.

Morning all!
56 going to a sunny 78.
Hard to believe it's Thursday already! Nothing much accomplished yet this week! Just don't feel like doing anything.
Puttered in the shop some. Not doing much as the safety gear is to heavy for my neck for long periods.
Did get a few projects done though.
Halloween gift made for the neighbor's son behind us.

A friend asked if I could make one of those phone amplifiers for him. Gave it a try. It works too!

A nice piece of alligator spruce showed up in the shop so I had to make something special:

Not sure what will be on the agenda for today. Keeping the plants watered is a full time job lately. We definitely need some rain!
Still have a few windows that need cleaning but can only be done with a ladder outside. Not sure if i'm well enough for that.
Will see how the day goes. That's all for now. Time for more coffee!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

64 outside right now, heading to lower 80's. If it rained we did not notice yesterday. Misting and drizzle is all I recall.

May start the burn pile up today. Dance around it like a heathen. Let out some excess energy. Always fun!

Real job is calling today. It's either manageable chaos or chaos that requires thinking to get around and start doing things.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Good morning TBM folks. In the 50's here now in Houghton MI and today's high is 64.

Got my trailer deck cleaned some yesterday in hopes it can dry, by blowing the dirt and leaves out of the joins and maybe get some preservative on it on Friday. We have not had a rain free week since June and are 7"-+ higher than normal. Did you guys need a photo of that?

Got more work done on the snow implement and minor things completed pertaining to the camp property purchase. (y) We live pretty boring lives here.
