I spent the morning taking Wifey to the dentist, get supplies, and pick up some stuff at the hardware store to cap/seal our unused stovepipe that I capped with a couple of rubber buckets ~30 years ago. Apparently they suffered catastrophic failure and blew off in yesterdayç—´ winds.

No catastrophic failure here, but after the rip-roaring storms that blew through over the weekend, our flagpole is now leaning at about a 10° angle to the East. Wife and her nephew put it up last Spring to replace the old steel pole that had come down in a storm a few months earlier. Rusted after 40 years, and broke off at the ground level. I thought the new one seemed a bit on the light side, but ... Have to see if I can straighten it without breaking it this weekend.

That is what I first said to him, but the site that he is working at were just going to cut them down and chip them. They are going to use the company BH to dig them up (so free), he is going to transport them on his personal trailer. We swap off labor or materials with each other, so the holes here were essentially free (he is going to get me some I-beam pieces and some steel columns). I am not optimistic about them surviving, but he is going to plant them..... They are coming from about 80 miles away, so it would probably be cost prohibitive to get a tree spade to begin with...

I got the next 3 holes dug, the BH taken off in the garage, tractor put to bed, and now inside relaxing! I was able to add the claws to the BH stabilizers. Only took about an hour to cut, drill, and install. They made a big difference, shaved about 20 minutes off each hole digging time, not having to readjust positioning of the tractor. She stayed planted. I am not sure if I need to paint them, they have that iron oxide coating on them and if they rust out, I will just replace them...

Just heard a story on the local news.... An HOA in Prescott AZ, is trying to enforce a rule that does not allow anyone under 19 to live / stay in the community. It is a 55+ community. There are exceptional conditions.... the 15 y/o that moved in with his grandparents lost both of his parents within two weeks. The grandparents appealed to the HOA for an exemption. It was denied, any now they are being taken to court by the HOA. The HOA says it would “ open the door “ for others......

REALLY??? It just affirmed my commitment to NEVER live where there is an HOA!

I had an HOA when my late wife and I were married, we sold it in 1976 and haven’t had one since. What a pain.
