good morning all
surprised at 45 on thermometer, my veggies won't be happy with that.
forgot to post this last night:

today was long and came to expected conclusion. Rv market stopped in April after a first good quarter,
everyone is super defensive and I was offered a trade in 18 grand below retail. We both smiled at each other and knew that
wouldn't fly. I have to decide if I want to leave it at one or the other dealership on consignment.
looks like I may be driving this motorhome another season
just might get to New England now...?

came home and neighbor across street asked me if I could loan them my electric sander, which of course
I did, with appropriate 120 and 240 grit paper for my Makita palm sander. Thick old wood table with a hundred coats of something on it
but nasty in a few areas, so need some grit to take it down. I would have used 80 (I have an asst of every size) but didn't trust him to wreck his table with it. Walked that over to them, yakked a bit and back
to plant watering.

tomorrow need to mow lawn again and then landlady comes over for a walk with me, check out her dead tree, and
all my new roses.

first early morning tomorrow appt with endocrinologist. Thank goodness my AIC dropped a tiny bit. My weight sure didn't...

Outside chores done E muffin time.
NuBoo show up 30 mins. before sunset laid down favorite spot on old Boo blanket 1am still there.

Plans for today...8 hours at part store afterwards yet to decided.

Thomas, glad NuBoo is becoming a friend. We've had several bears pass through here this spring, including one that came up on the front porch and posed for the Eufy cam.

Finally finished the entire grape arbor project by using my tractor grapple spear rig again to lift vines and give me some room to wire a grid to the frame for support. Looks real good, according to my wife. Took Della to hike and swim for celebration.

Ct, 44 to start going to 66. Beautiful now, hope it lasts awhile.
Heading north this morning, need to get the Vt house and garden in shape for the spring.

Have 15 bags of mulch loaded in the truck and Kathleen has a bunch more stuff to bring.

Thinking about getting my HAM license back again. Got it originally as a kid back in the 60’s. Just what I need another hobby.

Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! Currently 53° heading to 73°, clear and sunny, though they're calling for thunderstorms tonight. Posting today as I'll be on the links tomorrow come h*** or high water. News on the fires is good, the smaller one closer to me is contained and being put out. The larger one is 80% contained. Back-burns helped significantly.

This week at worked reminded me of something one of my professors said, what feels like a lifetime ago, "Working in IT is like being pecked to death by a chicken." No matter what you do, It's never enough. Well, I just do the best I can and none of the wheels have fallen off yet. It's a bit like having a foreman complain about a crack while you're trying to brace the dam. Yes, I see the issue, but I've got bigger fish to fry at the moment.

All that to say, this week at work went by quickly.

More mowing this week, knocked down the weeds around the split-rail fence out front with the electric weed whacker. I really like that thing, but it does have a tendency to stop feeding line out. Which then requires me to stop, take the battery out, and re-spool whatever nastiness has happened under the cover.

Ordered a stuffed Case Bulldozer for my nephew's birthday in August. Can't wait until he's big enough so I can spoil him (And myself) with the real die-cast models that I fondly remember from childhood. Patience is a virtue.

Goals for this weekend: Enjoy the tournament tomorrow, try not to get sunburned like last year, continued mowing, maybe take the tree down.

Off for the month end shopping trip. Only 7 stops including lunch. My turn to buy. That'll be another $100.oo including tip.

Mowed some further out areas with only one spot being too wet to mow. More rain is in the forecast for the next several days. Sure has been dry this year.

Mostly, a Hardy jack thanks. This type of jack is used by the Overlanders with modified jeeps etc to get them out of tough spots. This one is able to lift 5000 lbs made by Smittybuilt and very sturdy

The Ortho Dr recommended D have knee surgery to repair the meniscus. It is very painful so looks like that is in the future

Had a good day yesterday. My get up and go didn't leave with out me
Started with some seat time. Finally got the rest of the tree out of the backyard that I cut up after Helene.
Then went down to the tank to clean up the big ruts left by the tractor working in the mud.
One thing led to another and behold!!!

I decided I wasn't going to wait for the contractor.
Sent him a text last night that we might need to renegotiate
Cleaning out the bottom one more time

Now I start moving all the rubble I been scooping to backfill and have a concrete delivery made to mix in.
Wife didn't get the stills I would've liked. She was taking video instead
I have the video but I haven't figured out to load personal vids.
Todays agenda to backfill a while.


It's time for a second cup

Got my haircut, picked up medicine.

Wife got us more "grant money" from college, we made our deposit last night.

Hope to get the grass in side yards done, but need to buy some gas to do that.

decent visit with endocrinologist, we discussed my leg cramping and my cutting back on avorstatin to see
if that helped. It hadn't, but I had only cut back half. He said to go off it entirely for one month as a better test.
then he will likely put me back on a variation.
cholesterol was moderately high, so actually want to go back on statins. They seem to have side effects for many.
best thing I can do is drink more water. I'm sure I don't drink enough.

changed into work clothes and headed out to mow.

Got another 2 bags fresh veggies from neighbor.

Hard to tell (for me) without that little crown bit, but probably White or Pin oak. But there are quite a few oak types around here, and this is definitely one of them.
I tried planting a few acorns and even with a cage, the squirrels dug em up.

They get big, so don't plant too close to anything. But I would replant it, especially if it's not a pin oak.

rockfish was yummy, cooked in a small amount of curry and Indian spices,
over spinach and veggies
healthy low fat dinner
big bag of fresh spinach sure cooks down to a fraction
can you imagine your steak doing that?

and nothing good/bad to get into for dessert.
need to buy more apples tomorrow.
