Morning all, 47 going up to 76 and sunny.
Spent a few hours with the big hedge trimmer and got most of the driveway done, that autumn olive and firebush grow a few feet in less than a month. I had trimmed them in the fall.
Went to an estate sale and bought a sculpture, now we're fancy

Newbury - that's probably the best Shad recipe I've seen :) They serve it fried at the fest, don't think anyone ever orders it a second time.

David - new Pup time! congrats.

I am letting the side fields go to seed before mowing, so I need to get moving on picking up the sticks from this weekends winds. Still need to light the burn pile.

Did not have enough energy to take the brushcutter and do the back area, but should get to it this week sometime, and need a haircut.

Fig tree still not blooming.

All the vines are looking happy, both ones I want and ones I don't. Trimmed this one back and it looks better this year.:

Be well,

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 65° going to a high of 75° and sunny. No more news on the fires, heard zero percent contained but I can't smell any smoke or see the smoke anymore. Rain on Saturday helped I'm sure.

Busier weekend than I anticipated. Woke up early on Saturday, got oil changed in truck. Set-up and fiddled with Wi-Fi extender in the pole barn. It's not going to be a perfect solution, really just need another modem out there, but no one wants to dig a trench again. So I do what I can within the budget. It will only be utilized maybe 4-6 months out of the year, so no point in going overboard. After that, tackled some mulch, Tractor is making big bites out of Mount Tanbark. Still need Dad to rent the stump grinder. I did the first one, so the first taste was free. It's his turn now.

Dad meanwhile was planting a dozen or so white pines out front, hopefully to replace the mature/dying maples. I teased him that he just likes mowing around stuff.

Sunday was a little slower, just some mowing and helping Dad mulch the new trees. He also rototilled the old garden and planted native wildflowers. The new garden closer to the house will be tilled at some point. Mom needs more mushroom soil for the raised garden beds, so tractor will be tapped for that. Got the 500i and the Farm Boss sharpened, so I'm all caught up. Just need to find the motivation to fell the dead tree.

The hunt for land drags on, no one seems to want to part with their mineral rights. If you're going to sell the farm, sell the whole farm and be done with it.

Goals for this week are pretty much just survive the work week, Golf tournament on Friday through work, so that will be good. Dad shoves off this weekend for the opening of spring gobbler. Probably some more mowing this week as well.

Thought the flowering Dogwood looked pretty last night in the fading light:

68°F and 0 rain

Exciting day ahead. Picking up our new boxer girl about 8:30 in town. First have to get some puppy food. have 4 big bags of kibble for the boys, but all adult variety.

Even though this has been a back burner consideration for quite some time still a bit surprised we made a decision yesterday. Probably had something to due with the videos.

The boys know something is up. The crate they both spent time in as pups is back next to the bed. They barely get their head in now.

Our house is a challenge for house breaking and I’m 4 years removed from practice.

Happy Hour at neighbors this afternoon. Making a shrimp stir fry utilizing some of the fresh veggies from other neighbor. Sophie made her banana rum cake

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

David, congratulations on new pup, sure is cute.
Kyle, the answer is spend $$$ if you don’t like the seat time.
I enjoy mowing, it’s the 6 hrs each way to the farm that gets old. Debating about going tomorrow. Would take the BX to do some tight spot work, but trailer brakes don’t work. Need to start on ramp for dad’s porch sometime.
65° but hot in the sun on the deck.

Got rest of boards off, joists taped, couple new boards placed on, but too hot to work. Will wait till later afternoon shade.
Sitting in chair in yard, had lunch, snagglepuss on me. Almost time to take the old steps off

Well heck, afternoon all;

It's 65F outside at this time. Finally got around to stringing the tire chains up and washing the mud of them prior to putting them away for the summer. Let them hang in the sun for awhile then stacked them in the plastic barrel, and gave them a good dose of WD will leave the top of this afternoon untill I get home later. Time to get my butt in gear and run up for my daily dose of radiation, 45-50 minute drive each way for a 15 minute appointment.

All stay safe and well,

Got the town run done. Lottery ticket netted me 10 freebees and some money off for the next one. All totaled the next one cost me $77.oo for 6 months at 8 draws/month.I like doing it this way. I started doing 6 months at a time when I was trucking. One of the conditions on collecting your grand prize is you must be able to tell the people at OLG where you bought the ticket. I buy at the same place spring and fall. Other than signing the ticket any other marks on the ticket and they can claim you defaced it and refuse to pay.
The rest of the day is devoted to the youtube rabbit hole.

Welcome catalyst.
78 and sunny out, worked up a sweat waxing part of the car, parts were too hot in the sun to do.
watered all the plants, weeded gardens, as my naval captain uncle would say, everything looks ship shape.

Lou,, doesn't it feel like you just put those chains on?
time flies

had to turn a/c on, house was hot, can't open windows due to pollen.
tomorrow is a work morning with landlord's gardening helper, clearing out dead brush here.
So going to get plenty of exercise tomorrow; at least helper will drag all the brush into the woods.
no...no tractor and grapple, boo hoo. Not that much, I tell him it's job security and he sort of understands what I'm saying...

currently using the optical connection from smart tv to Polk soundbar in rv. No sound. I thought perhaps the cable had been
broken, but upon inspection, the cable end from the tv was lit up and glowing red.
that tells me power is coming through, I think but not necessarily that signal is. But likely.
I got another optical cable anyway to try.
if that doesn't work, I see they have a network cable connection and I have plenty of those cables lying around from yesteryear.

72F clear sky sunny indeed t shirt weather.

Been productive day more so than I thought it would be.
Gentleman gave me full pickup load for the critters :)
Finish clean rake ditches. :)
Finish giving house good scrub down and bubble bath. :)
Met with highway engineer thought he was little pushy,he wants 8 blue spruce remove on our land which be on road way rights so traffic has better view at 4 way intersection,I suggested put yield signs stop signs,he gave distance look also told him good chance be more accidents if spruces weren't there least spruces slow traffic down little...I doubt very much we'll see eye to eye.

Plans for the evening...after dinner set on the deck enjoy smooth cigar wait for critters wander by and the stars.

Enjoy your day all.

My guess is that the TV settings changed and the audio output is not set to optical.
It looks like the other connection is HDMI. If you use that, make sure that the TV is set to out put audio to HDMI.
Also make sure the soundbar is set to receive on whichever input you use.

Good Evening,
My grandson decided he wanted me to build him a soda bottle rocket. I bought some rubber stoppers at True Value and a box of Schrader valves from my local auto place. Ran my compressor up to 150 lbs and made up a little launching platform. He was thrilled to see the rocket take off about 150 ft into the air. I think I earned some points on this project 😉

Was a nice day to sit outside and take frequent breaks. Did dig one post hole by hand, for the lower deck, back side where I can't get tractor in. It was in the shade while the top of deck was in the sun. did get more boards screwed on, 1 1/2 to go.

For weeks our dependable Maytag has been leaking about a quart of water. Today I took it apart and found out the seal is bad under tub which is above the transmission. A repairman I spoke with said not worth repair because of labor involved. I'm debating whether to try repair myself.
What we hate about new washers is lid locks unlike old one. Old one we could wash & start all over again for longer wash.
Anyone ever replaced a tub seal?

Moderate to brisk winds, Overcast all day, showers in area, got trace rain in early evening, and high temp was 78ºF. made coffee to start day, after breakfast (cold cereal) to boat to launch ramp and met up with fish survey crew. Shock boat was late, started about 8:30. Worked for 3 hours with one break for measure, weigh, and release the large mouth bass. We were not shocking up many carp so one of my netters left during break. Another boat/driver showed up at lunch so I left after lunch. My boat guy replaced the rotten trailer bunks while I was with survey crew so recovery went smoothly. Got nap, mowed back yard, found 2 balls. BBQ at stepdaughter's for dinner :)

57 outside right now, not sure where the temp will end up later. Mid 70's if not high 70's.

Busy day. Ended with real job stuff a few minutes ago. Got tractor time in yesterday, cut neighbors field. Had a long talk with other neighbor, some trees down on their shared property line. Too big for me, and well I have enough wood. They both have heard me cutting, splitting and moving wood. Feast or famine with the wood these past few years. LOL.

Anyway, not sure what I will get into when the sun comes up. Need to relocate the game cams, think I found the fox den and pups. Will see if I can get a good setup on them this year.

Hope all have a great day, when it starts. Be safe.

Coffee is cooling in cup. 65° with rain this morning. Heading to 77° with thunderstorms in high SW winds. Washed car and Mule yesterday morning. Then cut grass and trimmed around house and buildings. Neighbor got home early from work. So we got tractors out and dug out a old willow tree stump and hauled it to wood burn pile. Hope to get a few weeds pulled between raindrops today.
