Good evening all. sorry for short post yesterday. 36F for the start, mostly clear, light wind. Wind was light with moderate gusts, sky clouded up some and high temp was 67F. That's exactly why I got an electric splitter (which Kyle has now) and sold my never used 3point splitter.

My mom thought moth balls would be good to get rid of ants, wrong, that is poison your breath, had to air out the house.

70˚F clear skies, going hiking.

Good thought on the moth balls. I'll only use them outside, and at night where the skunk went under the porch. I don't want other animals getting to them. Besides skunks, we also have a stray cat, raccoons, foxes, rabbits, and opossum coming around at night, and squirrels and chipmunks during the day. No bears recently, and the deer rarely come up into the yard. I see the critters when I turn on the spotlights at times...but you never really know what is going on at night until you put up a couple of train cams in the yard. It can get pretty busy some nights.

Good morning. Dark and dismal again this morning. Almost 3 hours after "sunrise" and I can't see the hands on the kitchen clock, only 4 yards from where I am sitting. I should get up and turn on the lights, however there is a dog snoring away on my lap and he doesn't intend moving until he hears the postman intruding on his territory.

Jim, apt name for ether.

32 and frosty and starry out there. Should see 57 later.

Hope you had a special day, David! (Even more special than every day at your place must be)...and maybe they even let you win at H&F :).

Roy, the snowman!

Don, read a big article yesterday on Del Webb's first Sun City near Phoenix, back in 1960...said cars were backed up on the highway for 2 miles on the day it opened. Now has 38,000 residents and still going strong. The article went on to talk about how certain cities will have an over supply of houses as baby boomer generation dies/or moves to assisted living. because the younger generations have settled elsewhere. Arizona and Florida may be hardest hit because of so many retirees moving there.

My splitter started in 2 pulls yesterday afternoon...much warmer air temp and I didn't prime it as much. Finished all my splitting in time to see a bald eagle fly by. We had 3 land in the trees recently. Seem to be more common around here. There is a big nesting site preservation area not too far away (as the crow/eagle flies).

There is an advertisement on the bottom of this TBN page with the best looking sub/hoagie...making me hungry. We don't have any "Penn Station" restaurants around here. Is their food good?

Good morning all. Nice weather here this week, fair, sunny today, high in upper 60s.
off to get truck inspected this morning, then more blowing leaves.
Finished the last of my stew, last leftovers tasted the best.

awful picture of wreath on barn, but at least I got it done yesterday afternoon. Spent too much time going up and down ladder, and I hate heights anyway.
Clipped the extension cord onto the metal door bar with plastic ties, then promptly snapped off all the ties closing the door. Major groan.
Up I went again...

Will put up rest of wreaths today, one at end of lane, five down the lane and one on barn.

Good morning,
the temp is 31 ーF and climbing to a high of 39. Wind WNW 8 mph. Increasing cloudiness.
The weatherman on another site is saying we are going to get a big storm on Wednesday. I won't hold my breath.

I gotta go to town today, I am searching for a socket to fit the anode nut. So far, no joy. I can't find my vernier so I measured it with a tape measure and it looks like either 1" or 1 &1/16".
After the hardware store and some groceries will be energy conservation time. Keep in mind that I will not be leaving the house until after 12:00 hrs, the mail usually gets here by then.

Have a good day all
