36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 64° today. Back into the 40s for the rest of the week, except for Saturday, which is forecast at 62°, then back to the 30s and 40s. Weeeeee!
Lots more piddly stuff done this weekend. Replaced leaky toilet flapper in the upstairs bathroom, fixed leaking bottom sweep on shower door, installed a few more door stops at Wife's request ... stuff of that nature.
We lost a chicken earlier in the week. She got out of the netting somehow and was roosted high in a tree, so I left her there overnight. Found a few piles of feathers the next morning, and her remains on the north side of the barn. Finally got around to checking the game cam, and confirmed my suspicions it was an owl. A big owl. In one fuzzy photo (it was foggy that night), the neighbors cat made a silly attempt to get involved in the festivities, only to be scared off by the owl spreading it's wings upwards. The tips of those wings were probably four feet tall. Even The Wife said she'd never seen one that big around here. It came back the next night as well, but not after that.
Happy (belated) birthday, David.
Bummer about your skunk problem, wngsprd. We had one earlier this year hanging around the barn for awhile, but it eventually got hit on the road. Used to be a much bigger problem when The Wife's grandmother used to leave cat food on the old back deck all the time. We used moth balls to help cure our groundhog problem in the barn, but never thought to use them for skunks.
