Good Morning.
11° and sunny. High in the 20’s and continued clear.

Yesterday was cold and white. Day started in the tractor.

Wanted to make sure that I got the blacktop exposed before the traffic packed it into ice. Turns out there was already ice under the snow. But the sun and dry air took care of that after a while. Son had multiple visitors helping him move.

Good to see all that insulation at work, and keeping the snow on the roof of the old folks home.

Zoe was pretty excited about the stream of new people coming and going, especially the ones that brought dogs. I have to admit it is interesting being a neighbor to the house that I built many years ago. But so far we really like the old folks home. Especially the radiant heat and fireplace.

No defined plan for today. I want to spend some time with the new welder, I still have stuff to sort through in the house, and need to continue to clean up in the shop, as some of my treasure from the house is landing there.
I’ve got a check from the Oddfellows Lodge to deliver to a nearby food pantry, but not sure if they will be there today.

Also thinking about flying the little plane to lunch somewhere. Be interesting to see what the day brings.
What model welder did you get? do you have a fume extraction system?

Morning all, 18 going up to 24 and sunny.

Very glad I shoveled the driveway as what is left is ice.

Little before play party went great, wife made pizzas, I grilled up my Sricha/Honey flank steak.
Some shrimp and lots of home baked cookies and off to the play.
We met up in a bar we used to go to a lot, then off to the "barn".
It was a musical, so not my fave , but the ladies liked it a lot.
They do put in a lot of work for a small theater.

Kyle - I have Torque and it is on google play. No start on AC motor is usually a capacitor.

Be well,

Morning. Lows have been in the upper 20's, highs in the upper 50's. Should be near 60 for Christmas day..... that's just not right.... I remember a Christmas day back in the early 1990's that hit 72°. That really didn't seem right.....

No precipitation/moisture for over 36 days now. The drought monitor is creeping up....

Please keep us in your prayers...and some extras too.
Dona is not doing well. I'm not sure if she'll make it to Christmas without going back into the hospital (which she is refusing to do right now). She wants to be here with family.

It's gotten to the point where the pain meds aren't working. She got up this morning for maybe 45 minutes and is back in bed.

I don't know what else to write.....

Everyone have a great day!

64°F and no rain

The Solstice gathering was fun. Too much great food. Sophie let me drive her new car. Nice

Gonna take an energy ( and mental) conservation day. Watch some football, maybe break out the user manual for car so I can be basically aware how things work. Salesman demonstrated the driver assist function that Drew and others talk about with Sophie but I forget how to turn on.

UPS delivered dogs Christmas a ramp to get into back of Tundra

Prayer for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Hope all a Merry Christmas soon.
So sorry my wife still in hospital now with sepsis which isn't good. I'm getting over pneumonia hopefully and visit today.
Please pray .
We have no family here except my 97 yo Mom dementia and doesn't understand. We're blessed with great neighbors though.
Thanks.

Ron, delivery drivers cannot read English. You must post your sign in all the different languages you 'might' encounter in the U.S. AND explain in the same languages how they are at the wrong f^&%$#g door.

Back when I was a little gaffer, our front door never had steps going up to it. It was 4' off the ground. We had a sign on it that said "Use back door only please". The sign was right at eye level. You wouldn't believe the number of door to door salesmen that pounded on the front door. If you cannot read you certainly are NOT getting an order from us.

Scotty, a bit about my private sales.
Bought cheapest Tacoma on the lot, 4 banger, 5 speed, 2wd, extended cab via the cash for clunker program in 2009. Thad was salesman. Some times wish I had kept the jeep and just put money into it, but only seldom.
In 2012 bought a Tundra and Thad was salesman. Smooth deal. I sold Tacoma on Craigslist for near what I paid.
2016, looking to upgrade Sophie from her 2001 Sequoia. Texted Thad only to learn he had moved to Kona and it was his last day at Toyota, would be at Honda Monday. Bought the Pilot thru him a couple weeks later.
2019 ready to trade Tundra, txt Thad and made deal on Ridgeline. Dealership under new ownership. This was precovid but I never went to dealership. Negotiated trade via txt. He brought Ridgeline to house, did the paperwork in matter of minutes and left with my Tundra.
So in November when I was contemplating trading the Ridgeline I text Thad, only to learn he had left Honda, along with his manager as things had changed negatively under the new ownership. Had to agree given my own recent dealings. He and manager were operating a used car business, had been about 4 years. Told me they would be interested in buying my truck. And they did after a couple of txt and pics. When we did that deal he said when it came time to upgrade the Pilot to give a call. I did. In both cases I got a bit less than I would have expected selling myself, but more than any other dealer, and just as important, no hassle, just remove our personal items. I did give the Ridgeline a quick wash and vacuum. One of my basic shortcomings, not like many guys, my idea of a great afternoon never included detailing a vehicle.
So bought 4 vehicles via Thad and sold 2 back over 15 years.

David, I'm with you on not spending time detailing vehicles. I keep my vehicles long term, and they end up being high mileage. The first year I had the mazda, it was a garage queen, about 4k miles for the year. 20K added this year, after the subaru was wrecked. Son is really adding mileage to our 2013 Pilot (227K), he will have to be looking soon.

I too have a habit of keeping my vehicles for a long time. When the temperature gets above freezing AND the do it yourself car wash is open, then I wash the car.
When the rear frame on the Jeep Wrangler rotted out, a buddy (the same guy that took me to Barrie for the evaluation) needed a 4x4 to plow his driveway at the cottage. He is in the snow belt. I told him he could have the Jeep IF he came and got it. Along with the Jeep he got 2 complete sets (5) of Pro-Comp M&S 30x9.5x15 tires with one year on them. There were a set of Dunlops on it when he got it. (Pro-comp stopped making the 30s) So he got 11 spare tires mounted on rims along with the Jeep. He was happy.

What model welder did you get? do you have a fume extraction system?

Primeweld MIG 285. No fume extraction.
I’ve been very happy and impressed with Primeweld. I also have their TIG225 and Cut 60. I use the plasma cutter with a CNC table, all of their equipment has exceeded my expectations.

Afternoon all!
Made it all the way up to 10 today. Dropping to zero or below tonight!
Pellet stove is blazing away. Ran the one in the wood shop also.
Spent time doing my normal Sunday morning cleanup of the whole basement. Saw dust gets everywhere! Then I decide to make more!
Another ornament made from cherry and made a 3 X 2 1/2 box from the leftover piece.
Started another project. This time made from ash. Trying out a new texturing tool I got myself for Christmas.
Praying for everyone and sorry to hear so many are not doing well for this holiday season!!
Hope everybody stays safe(and warm)and healthy!
