Gilson what year

I have an old Gilson with a 16 BS engine and tiller on the back.
I am trying to find out what year it was made. Model # 53059A Ser # S1089D1 836
It runs well and I got it to use as a tiller and grader so we can use the new Husquarvana mostly for mowing.
Any info one has would be great.

Also I am trying to take of the tiller. I have all the two mounting pins puled and the raise/lower rod. Does the shaft just slide out as pull forward?
Any help would be great.
