How many square feet or acres is a typical track?

I think you could construct a track fairly easily with the Loader, a heavy Box Blade sufficient for Three Point Hitch counterbalance and a heavy roller.

You would need quarried, inorganic, seed free, usually golden "construction" sand.

I do not think any sort of "sand" would be satisfactory for a mini race track.
A hard packed clay surface (think tennis court) would seem to be optimal.

This is accurate. Basically a layer of clay thick enough to where it wouldn't break apart when stepped on, at a minimum, as it is typically laid atop sand here in Florida. A long time back, a friend had a clay track in his yard. All earth work was done by hand; shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows to dig up the jumps and relocate the clay elsewhere on the track. This was the late 80's and we were still young and strong. We used a yard tractor to "drag" the track to keep the flat surface as smooth as possible. The yard tractor did not cause any damage to the track. I am sure a larger tractor would, but then again the tractor would mainly be used to rearrange the track.

Those 8th scale buggies and "truggies" are monsters. When it is your turn to "turn marshall" (stand on the track to get flipped cars going again), you have to be alert. Those things can shatter an ankle. That said, it's no picnic being hit by any R/C car when it is at speed or airborne. I saw a guy take an electric 10th scale buggy to the side of his head. He crumpled to the ground. The goose egg on his head moments later was something else.

Golden construction sand?. Dreamtime!

Maybe add some Portland cement to the sand so you got soil cement.

That would make for interesting racing.
