Gas cans - really

Tank and hand pump, I hate cans. Depending on how much you use, factory units are available,

I have a 50 gallon saddle tank out of a truck with a hand pump I use, I picked up for $100, been working like a charm for years. I also have a 300 gallon I had given to me, but we own a farm and I use more than the typical person.

tessiers,
for a guy like me, I think the tank and pump is really not a great solution. One is how to handle filling a tank (presumably more than one can lift (and yeah, I would have an FEL for the first time so that is probably surmountable), but I also do not use fuel fast enough that I could keep up with seasonal blend issues, condensation, and whatever else lurks in stale diesel.

Maybe I'm imagining issues that do not really exist. A pair of 5 gallon cans would, however, almost certainly keep me running very well.

Trust me, stay away from plastic, it's junk, expands, and is dangerous. You will be replacing plastic very soon. These cans are awesome. Bought these from Amazon.

Now that's what I am looking for! I have 2 cans just like it but w/o the fancy hose arrangement. They are great, but this would be much better.

Amazon, huh? I'll check it out.

Indeed, they have many different types of cans, including these (which look best to me). Not cheap, but quality never is.

$58 per.

Be warned, and scrutinize the specs. The flexible hose/spouts come in two diameters; I have forgotten but think they were 5/8" and 1". Get the larger diameter so you won't have to squeeze the vent handle as long.

I looked into those awhile back, but saw quite a few reviews about them leaking and that they are galvanized and fuel cannot be stored in them. I know some of the tractor manufacturers, including JD, specifically warn against using galvanized cans. I bought more plastic cans and added vents to speed fueling, just like GaryLock showed above.

Are you serious? I have plastic gas cans, some of which are well over 20 years old and still in use.

Catman8, I seriously find it hard to believe you can even get those shipped into Cali with all the regulations (CARB and others). ;)
