Well, I finally got some pictures developed. I've really enjoyed playing in my little garden this year. This is the first time I have tried bedding the soil and using the landscaping fabric to help fight the weeds. Squash, bush beans, and okra is coming in. The pole beans are not far behind. These pictures are a few weeks old, so everything is actually a little taller, etc. We need the rain, haven't seen a drop in nearly three weeks. If I had not burried weeper hoses before laying the fabric, it would all be about dead now. The fabric seems to really help hold the moisture. Had to stake it down with wood stips to keep wind from blowing it away. Wife did not like mulch on the fabric, wanted everything nice and clean. I'd say the fabric is good for only one season. It has already started breaking down. If you are not careful, it will tear easily with a step is made against the bed. I have really enjoyed it though. Cost me maybe $150 to cover it all up like this. I think it was worth it though. Will probably do the same next year.
