I see this on my regional CL.

It has the hydraulic rippers. But how hard would it be to make this compatible w/ a cat 1 3PH? I have quick hitch too.

This is a cat 1-2 setup. The inside 2 slots are for cat 1, and the outside 2 slots are cat 2. You'd need to check with the manufacturer about the quick hitch compatible or if its close to you go measure it. Good looking box blade.

Well I see the link I tried didn't help much but another picture. :confused3: Go to the Gannon web site.

I don't believe that it is QH compatible. :( Easy fix though. Cut off the ears on the mast and rotate them forward and weld. That "should" take care of the QH compatible problem.

that would be a beast of a box blade..

Thanks for the info guys, I certainly am interested in it.
Asking price is ~$2k. What do you think?

Price a new one and determine the difference. If a new one is 3k+ - I would say that it's a good deal.

I have a very similar one from Modern Implements 7 FT with the hinge back, only difference is mine has the manual scarifiers, mine also is a category 2 hitch. I bought CAT 1 to 2 bushings from TSC, and cut them down to where the were flush with the hole on the inner ears. Then I bought CAT 1 pins with the bolt ends, I mounted the pins inwards and bolted them through the first set of ears with grade 8 washers. It is not the preferred method but I haven't had any issues. I will post a pic tomorrow when I get home. I have noticed after about 25 hours one of the pins is bent by about a half inch. But considering all the stuff I push and pull with it I guess a little bending is expected.

Sorry, but your Modern Implements BB is not similar at all.

To the OP. These are not QH compatible. The top link pin is not forward far enough. The QH will impact the scarifier cylinder or it's fittings/hoses unless modified.

These BBs are a beast. Not familiar with your tractor??? I use a 7' on a 95HP, 10K lb tractor. It handles it well but can still be stalled if scarifiers are dropped into solid dirt.

The 2K price is fair. Not a steal, but not a ripoff either. You need to decide how much you will use it.

Thats a pretty descent price my 88" gannon was $3750 plus tax and hoses. As others mentioned its not qh compatible. Possibly if you turned the cylinder around. The top link pin is also about 6-7" higher than a standard qh.

Looks like a great specimen.

IMO, if u can find a good used Gannon that will fit your tractor and save $1k+, jump on it. I don't see them come up often. Mine is a 78" and only extends abt 3" outside of the tires. Wish it was 84" but at $1.3k I jumped and am so glad i did every time I use it.

That is a fair price for this box blade. I suspect it is a 7' model not a 6'. It is not quick hitch compatible as is. You can modify it to work for quick hitch as mentioned. I have a similar model for my 4520 and this should be a good match for your new tractor. \

I live in Ruidoso NM and glad to see more folks from our area join TBN.

I believe you are right! I count 8 scarifiers on it.

Are you sure that's a Gannon? It looks identical to a Frontier branded blade I saw.
edit: I see Jenkinsph's blade is labeled Frontier but looks identical to the CL ad blade from the OP. Are Frontier and Gannon the same blades?

Most certainly a Gannon, another pic shows the name.

I may or may not try to convert to Quick Hitch. If it ends up being on most of the time like I think it will, then it probably won't matter so much.

BTW, if you want ot see my tractor, go HERE

That is not the same blade as steve's. His has a hinged high back.

It is not QH compatible (the lower sidelink ears need to be slightly extended), but you can make it work and if the price is right, snap it up.

The Frontier's that look like Gannons are made by TuffLine and are QH compatible. However, the TuffLine/Frontier scarifiers are stamped, not forged.

Recently I think Frontier has switched suppliers for box blades. My box blade was made by Gannon and is a 2004 or 2005 model BB1284 which has the tailgate and weighs 1260 lbs. It has 8 ripper shanks.
