Is there a game camera that is a good choice for day and night security monitoring in a remote area ?

I bought a $300 IR Moultrie, but it wasn't very good for this purpose. The IR flash was still visible, the detection range was not very far or sensitive, and it was just too big to camoflage and hide.

I would like a camera that overcomes these shortcomings and also one that has a modem option to send the pics to a remote computer.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Arky

Look at the Reconyx web site. They show a "no glow" camera that might better suit security role.

Once again the folks here on TBN have led me to more options and models than I knew existed. I spent a few hours last night on chasingame.com and am nearly at info overload. :confused2:

The Reconyx cameras are very good but VERY expensive. There's a new one out that's called UWay NightTrakker NT50B. It uses the same technology they call "black flash" so there is no visible IR lights. The camera is slightly bigger than a can of beer so it's easy to hide for security. If I recall, it also records sound with the video. They're on Amazon and other sites for $329. The Reconyx runs about $500.

Had a gift card from Cabela's and decided on the Primos Truth Cam 60 (model 63030).

I've had it for a month now and use it take pics of deer, coyote, neighbors (they don't belong there), passing through the back of our property.

So far I'm very happy with the camera. We've viewed the pics it takes on our HD TV and are very impressed with the pics the camera takes.

I'd post some of the pics but have not saved any yet. Both night and day pics are crystal clear. I've got it set to capture only about 20 yards and in though (angle of the camera)...couldn't speak for longer distance.

Take a look at a fairly new on the market $200.00+ game cam called "Ltl Acorn 5210A" as it is getting some good reviews and yes, made in China so follow your convictions as to the camera's origin.

Something with WIFI would be great.

EDIT: Never mind, I see it's already available.
