I can provide a very non-technical explanation.

I own a 43 hp kubota, that is used on weekends only. Average usage is 5-8
hours per weekend. Primary usage, FEL, bush hogging, and grading. It is seldom run at 100% capacity.

I refuel with a 5 gal can, and have never run low on fuel during a weekend.
