G100 Power FLow install question

Hi All,

I purchased a new power flow adapter from my JD dealer and foolishly decided to install it myself. Needlesstosay, it's been one headache after another. I am in the final stages on installation and ran into a SNAFU. I was hoping someone could guide me on this one.

Here is the install guide on-line:

I am in this section:

Installing POWER FLOW and Belt

and I am on this step:

1. Pull on POWER FLOW belt loop (B) to release tension from POWER FLOW tension mechanism (C). Lever (D) must be free to rest on blower housing.

but the tension bar doesn't seem to do anything (swings freely and doesn't seem to be attached to anything). I'm wondering if the unit is broken or missing a part.

any assistance that anyone could offer me (aside from talk to the JD folks -- they've been very little help) would be greatly appreciated.

As I continued reading past the part that you quoted, I found a section that said "10. Pull lever (M) to rear to tighten belt."

Might be this the step your lacking for belt tension ?

Thanks for the reply. I should have been more clear. The problem starts actually on step 8B.


NOTE: Belt should not be under tension. If tension exists, repeat pulling of belt loop to release tension from POWER FLOW tension mechanism. Lever must be free to rest on blower housing.

The problem is that the belt *is* under tension and we cannot attach it to the second head of the sheave. The tension bar doesn't seem to do anything and there doesn't seem to be any way to release the tension.

Thoughts?
