I haven't seen a lot about how to change the fuel filter for the B2920. It seems to be one that would require a little more skill since you might have to bleed the fuel line afterwards. The owner's manual also suggests to perform this when the tank is less than 1/2 full. Any advice or tips about how to go about doing the fuel filter change would be appreciated as I don't want to try to do it and then not be able to run the tractor afterwards.

Easy;

1/2 tank or less (if more then the return line can and will keep the flow of fuel flowing;big mess)

Take off the clear fuel bowl; may be snug.

2 small o-rings don't lose

Remove filter

Clean bowl with a rag (had to scrape gunk with a standard screwdriver)

Re-install filter, bowl, o-rings (fuel will start flowing so be fairly quick) hand tight

Start tractor and run 2000rpm for a few minutes

That's it!

I did the same as above for the fuel filter on my B3030. I only thing I did differently was I rinsed the filter in kerosene. I also do a little trick reguarding leakage. I put plastic over the fuel opening, then replace the fuel cap. This cuts off air and slows the amount of fuel leaking. Plumbing 101: air moves liquid.

If your fuel tank would have been 1/2 or less you wouldn't need to worry about the plastic trick.

So you have never had to bleed the fuel line after you change the fuel filter?

No.

As you re-install the bowl/filter refills while you screw it on bleeding any air out as you finish the install.

Thats all you need to do is put the box of cling wrap near the fuel cap and it stops the flow? I'll have to remember that one.:laughing:

Hey guys, I don't know about the 2920, but that 3030 should be the same as mine - I have a 2630. There is a check valve. As soon as the bowl is removed all the way, the flow of fuel is shut off. You simply unscrew the bowl, clean it out, and screw it back on. No leaks at all. I've done it quite a few times.

Ok, this could be easier than I thought then. Thanks

The operators manual for the B3000 says that the check valve will allow fuel to continue to flow if the fuel tank is more than 1/2 full.
