Just purchased a new AGCO ST34A with FEL, and was wondering what the best location for work lights was. The tractor has great headlights, but as soon as you raise the FEL, they are gone. Was looking at fenders or ROPS maybe. Opinions???
You're right, the headlights just don't make it with the loader on. You'll get the best results with extra lights on the rollbar. The hieght lets the light shine over the bucket. I put one facing forward and one facing backwards, that come on with the headlights, and really like the results. Alot has been written here on the subject, with lots of good ideas - comes down to preference.
Not sure how your frame arrangement is, but I had the same complaint on my Simplicity Legacy XL. Got these for $25 at a local auot parts store. Works great.
I simply ran the ground wire to the FEL frame which is grounded to the tractor frame. I installed a switch to an extra hole on the dash (not shown here) and fed a wire to the battery. I can turn the lights on without starting the tractor if needbe. This way all I have to do is unplug the power when taking the FEL off. Lights remain on the FEL. When the FEL is off, the tractor lights are fine.
Not really rocket science, but if you want I can PM you some more pictures.
THESE ARE ON MY ROLLBAR.They are from NORTHERN[under 10 bucks each] a piece of pipe,a couple clamps, and i switched the fronts and rear [back hoe light] seperate. They make night like day.

escavader, looks like you've got a good working light system. Where do you get the power from? Can't tell by looking at the pic, is there just one (hot) wire and then grounded to the rops?
Thanks
