Front wheel bearings failed L5740

The bearings isn't great able is it? I grease the fitting on the top of the spindle but I thought that was for the upper ball joint and the wheel bearing was either an oil bath or a sealed unit.

There are NO ball joints. The grease fitting on top of the spindle casting is to keep the upper king pin lubricated and to keep the radial seal greased. The king pin rides in replaceable plain insert bearings and it's imperative they stay greased.

I’ve seen what people do with CUTs… materials are probably less the issue, than is the operator in many cases

It still can be due to part sizing,
I think some of the CUT MFGr's are minimizing front axle drivetrain parts just a bit to far.
